The Taylor Party: Taylor Night Tickets

The Taylor Swift Dance Party was incredibly fun! The song selection was pretty good (our group thought of a couple songs that were left off the set list). The fans definitely made the evening with costumes and outfits for all Taylor Swift era's! The two things that stuck out to me as room for improvement was... 1) the videos for the video wall became pretty repetitive quickly. For a 3 hour dance party, some variation in the videos would have kept our attention on the "show" aspect of it. 2) I'm at Mercury Ballroom pretty regularly. There's almost always a coat check. For this show, in mid January, on a very cold night, no coat check! So there were a lot of people there to dance that had to hold on to their coats for 3 hours while dancing. In some cases, people had (appropriately) worn pretty thick coats (myself included). Since there is no re-entry, we couldn't take our coats back to our cars. It just seemed like a huge oversight, that could have improved the enjoyment of the night! And a money maker for Mercury Ballroom! That aside, this was a blast of a night my friends and I completely enjoyed ourselves! Would recommend to anyone considering going!

Environment and drinks were fab ! Music amazing ofc ! The only complaint I sorta have is the long wait for alcohol, which I was still fine with I just know it was crowded and looked like a shortage of bartenders which I understand. Besides that it was perfect !

They literally just put Taylor’s music on shuffle with a video backdrop that they keep having to press play on. The girl in the blonde wig that I guess is supposed to be hyping up the crowd pretending to be taylor barely knew any of the lyrics. Her eyes were glued to the laptop screen and she was not very interactive with the crowd. I could have just stayed at home and put my own albums on shuffle and saved myself the money.

I was looking forward to this for a long time and yes the event was great. I wish every night at the bar could be nonstop taylor swift music. There’s nothing better than singing taylor swift music at the top of my lungs in a room full of swifties. The themed drinks were very cute and tasted great. However, there was not enough bartenders for this event. I gave up trying to get a drink a few times, because the line for the bar was so long. The times I did get a drink it took a very long time >30 mins. They should’ve set up an additional bar for this event. It was a woman dominated event and there was 2 bathroom stalls, another thing that took unnecessarily long. It was also way too hot in there. Towards the end of the evening at around 11:40, the lights turned on. People started chanting all too well, which the DJ played with the lights on, the vibes were off. Soon after we realized there were police everywhere and they were shutting down the event. It was a huge disappointment that of course the police had to end it, with no real reason why. Nothing about the event was unsafe, it was a Taylor Swift dance party?????? I would love for this event to happen every weekend, but next time I’d love more bartenders and the police to be uninvited.
