THE SOUNDS IN CONCERT:
Swedish new wave revivalists The Sounds blend anthemic guitar hooks and period-perfect synth lines to stunning effect, injecting their modern indie dance rock with just the right amount of '80s nostalgia. Frontwoman Maja Ivarsson may look like she's ready for the runway, but come showtime she means business, leading fans through pogo-inducing renditions of the band's most adrenalin-filled tracks. Hot off the heels of the late-2013 release of Weekend, The Sounds have fans eagerly awaiting their 2014 North American tour dates with Blondfire.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Sweden in 1998, The Sound made their full-length debut in 2002 with Living in America, becoming an overnight sensation in their home country and landing on the radar of critics in the US and UK. 2006 saw follow-up album Dying to Say This to You as well as main stage performances at the Vans Warped Tour, where the band dazzled fans and critics with their electrifying live sets. Celebrating ten years of recording and touring with the 2013 release of Weekend, the band once again hit the road for a headlining European tour before heading to North America in 2014.

The performance was better than any other tour I have seen from them. Kudos to the opening bands as well.

by ShapeShifter on 10/25/09The Warfield - San FranciscoOne of the highest energy concerts I've ever seen. Each band really seemed to put everything they had into it. The sound was great as were The Sounds. But I mainly wanted to see Shiny Toy Guns, and they were just outstanding. Absolutely terrific. I kind of wish they were headlining so they'd have a longer set, but I gotta give it up to The Sounds too. I was more curious about them than anything, but they just really delivered and put on a really great show! Both bands seemed to have a great time and really laid it on the line. Eleven on a scale of ten!

I will definitely see them again when they make another stop in San Francisco. I will recommend going with a friend as the people on the floor tend to push A LOT, and this way you have someone helping you push the stupid people back in their spot. The Sounds do not disappoint. They are fantastic:)

Ive seen Muse, The Killers, The Hives, MSTRKRFT, Blink 182, Bloc Party, Weezer...some great shows. But this just topped all of them by far and away. Every band that played was phenomenal. Just so high energy, so much fun, its hard to put into words. Just a great show! Cheers to those three bands. If you get an opportunity to see any of them, do it. I promise youll have the greatest time of your life at a concert.

They sounded amazing live and had an awesome stage presence. Even if you've never heard of The Sounds I recommend seeing them. They're an amazing band with great music. If you like to dance and rock out to great music, you'll definitely have a good time seeing The Sounds.
