I recommend this one day festival in Baltimore for someone to check out! A bit of distance (walking) from the Harbor but worth it. Make a day of it or weekend of it and visit Baltimore Harbor enjoy some great metal, rock music at a cool festival! As well as the Harbor, food and beers! Cheers!
I had so much fun at The Shindig Festival! I cannot wait to attend next year. The bands were awesome and the overall atmosphere was amazing.
The setup at this event was awesome. The two stages were perfectly timed so when one band ended the next one started. The staff at the entire event were friendly and efficient.
The VIP section was a waste of money, not really anything special The tent was crowded and hot. The air conditioned restrooms were smelly and dirty.. Will never pay that price again. No place to sit and the promise that being very close to the stage, was a joke. Too many rude and inconsiderate people to deal with. .
Second year in a row. Second as great as the last. The bands this year were heavy, New band Crobot was exceptional, great sound. Godsmack and Chevelle were off the charts. The food was good and the liquor was endless. Better beer this year too. Awesome time! Well worth the money.
The best b-day gift!! My favourit band - GODSMACK on my b-day <3 Amazing concert and a lot of amazing people there! But totally disappointed from the VIP area..
Short of a few sound issues (RHH Mic was off for half a song and STP had a miserable high pitched sound that hurt the ears even away from the stage) it was great show. I plan to go again next year but I will take fold up chairs. Beer was $7 FOR a 16oz and there was tons of food from thai to Philly steaks for about $12. I think the Shindig will outgrow Carroll Park very soon, but it still isn't crowded.
AMAZING!!!! MOST OF THE BANDS WERE GREAT!!!! CHEVELLE WAS MY PERSONAL FAVORITE! I WAS SKEPTICAL ABOUT CHESTER BENINGTON AS FRONT FOR STP, HOWEVER, HE MORE THAN DELIVERED!!! HELMET WAS A BIT OF A LET DOWN. NOTHING MORE WAS VERY LIVELY AND FUN, DEF A NEW FAVORITE! GODSMACK WAS GREAT! ANTHRAX WAS ALSO GREAT.
No real benefits to VIP general admission got to go right up front we were off to the left or right with these banners in the way when the band member would walk baca couple steps you couldn't see them anymore no different selection on food or drinks some shade until the sun was going down then no shade just not worth 150 a ticket
So many great musicians wrapped up tightly all in one day.... The event moved flawlessly. Congrats to whomever led that program- that team should be greatly sought after!! The music was wonderful.... Godsmack; what can I say- I love those guys..... And again they remain at the top of my "to see list". Crobot's lead singers stage presence was simply extraordinary.... And a first time for me. How energizing and refreshing to watch him. The Reverend Horton Heat was simply classy and fun. Anthrax is never a let down- loved they played some old-time metal.
From the start every band was great. I especially appreciated the way Black Angel Down, Crobot, and Nothing More seemed to give everything with their music. Stone Temple Pilots were different with Chester fronting but it was still great. I loved how Godsmack ended with the Alice Cooper classic "School's out".
Shindig this year was pretty damn great! Good drinks, good food, and of course a great line up. Great crowd too. This was my second year, and I was very pleased. My only complaint is the sound. On either stage, sometimes vocals couldn't be heard, lead guitars couldn't be heard... it was an issue. Godsmack must have had their own sound engineer because they sounded perfect.
The show was awesome as it was the year before but better bands! Great crowd very respectful...maybe we are just getting old? As always everyone wishes it could go on longer than 11pm, what a joke Bmore City! Hmmm who is going to top Godsmack next year??? Thanks for another great year!!!
The only MAJOR problem was that there was NOT any soap & water or antibacterial gel to clean your hands with after using the restroom. That was disgusting!!! I even talked to a gentleman in charge at the start of the festival and he did not act concerned and said it must have been an over site. Nothing was done to fix the problem even with 10 hours notice.
Amazing bands from any vantage point. Great crowd.. Fun, relaxed, and friendly. Good range of food options, from meaty to vegitarian. Kept the place clean. Lots of space to lay down and relax on the grass. Volume adjustable by position.. Thunderous up close, easy conversations further away. Only downside: hard to find toilet paper in the last 3 or so hours. Totally go again!
I've been to Shindig each year since it started; always a great time, great line up, discovered new bands, and love that Clutch is always performing. If you don't know that band, Clutch is the best band that you've never heard of. Ripley's has a side stage with some very interesting acts which are not to be missed. I would give it 5 stars, except the parking has gone up by 10 dollars each year. First year- parking was included in the ticket price, second year it was 20, this year it was 30. I
Shindig was a great time! I would love to go again with the right line up. This years line up was fantastic! The set up was cool. The food was good. The big thing for me was the promoters did not over sell this event. Which was what I was afraid of since I had never been before. Other festivals have gone to, over sold the event and it SUCKED! LInes were too long for beverages, too long for food and way too long for bathrooms. Could not even get near the stages either. This was not the case at Shindig. Good job promoters for not over selling this event!!!!
awesome event, great atmosphere and stellar lineup. lots of distractions if some of the best bands in rock isn't your focus. this year was my 3rd consecutive shindig and all are VIP passes.
So much fun! Great music and made new friends! The food trucks were awesome and there was so much to see and do. Had a blast and will definitely do it again!
