    Beautiful Music

by DocVaughn on 1/29/18Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

Listening to such a fantastic orchestra play such beautiful pieces was a night to remember. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much! The players were soooooo gooood!!! Only down side of the night was the woman who's phone went off 4 TIMES!!!! It was surprising that the conductor didn't stop and ask her to turn it off. Another audience member finally took charge and turned off her ringer ( she didn't know how to operate her phone). Here is to hoping she can't figure out how to turn the ringer back on, lol.

    Classic Mozart at it's best

by TomMimi on 1/18/16Centennial Hall - Tucson

It was a wonderful evening of music! However, our fellow residents of Tucson, need to learn how to properly dress for the symphony. Tucson! Get a clue! You look like homeless people! Hoodies are NOT appropriate at the symphony.

    Zuckerman conducts brilliantly

by UC70 on 1/11/16New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Brahms first symphony raised the roof. In Mozart violin concerto, beautiful balance of violin and orchestra. Zuckerman violin sound was heavenly, and cadenzas were full of strange harmonies.

    On a cloud

by Lullaby on 1/21/14Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

It was not yet heaven but close to it when Mr. Zukerman and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joined in playing Bach and Brahms, my two favorite composers. I thought I was on a drifting cloud hearing the magnificent musical instruments. Thank you for inviting this orchestra to the Valley Performing Arts Center.

    Great Evening

by mmmmh on 1/21/14Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

The music was wonderful with both Mr. Zukerman as conductor and violinist. A very enjoyable evening. Alyson Forsyth was also wonderful. The venue was very nice although the sound was rather quiet.

Beethoven's 5th was the best ever

by Capwat on 1/15/14New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Beethoven's 5th Symphony was performed the best we have ever heard it. Beethoven's violin concerto was also very well done.

    Amazing!!

by VDZAS on 1/14/14New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I don't know if writing review to such an Orchestra can be anything but GREAT, FANTASTIC, WONDERFUL, or other similar expressions. The sound of the Orchestra is perfect!! I heard Pinchas Zukerman as a viola and violin player many times, but I never saw him conducting. The Orchestra sound and interpretation, especially Beethoven's 5th were amazing. Zukerman's movements were so perfect, but maybe a little bit too detailed, you need to do that when you are working with a mediocre Orchestra, I would expect this kind of conducting with any Orchestra, I am not sure Royal Philharmonic Orchestra musicians really needed what I would call "He chewed every piece to smallest size, you just swallow it". They (Musicians) at that high level would do great even with lesser size of body movements. But that's secondary, because the most important: PERFORMANCE WAS FANTASTIC!! THANK YOU ROYAL PHILHARMONIC!! AND THANK YOU MAESTRO ZUKERMAN!!! HE IS GENIOUS!!!

    Beautiful music, beautifully executed

by Fredikoo on 1/13/14New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Zuckerman and the orchestra were well tuned and focused and the result was a gorgeous concert. One serious problem--we were seated in the Grand Tier right behind a BANK OF LIGHTS that occasionally blinked and distracted us from focusing on the orchestra. When such horrible seats are sold, the purchaser should be informed in order to perhaps make a different selection. We bought the tickets very early and should have had perfect seats, not behind those lights. Or else the light panel should be masked to prevent light from flickering in the eyes of audience members. I was extremely upset by having to face the light panel and I feel the NJPAC did us a real disservice. I doubt we shall return because it is just as easy--easier in fact--for us to go to concerts in Manhattan. WE want to support classical music in New Jersey but we were treated very unfairly.

Rewarding experience. How can you go wrong with Beethoven well performed? The 5th was great as usual, despite tempos a bit quick for my liking, robbing some of the majesty of this great work. Still fabulous.
