The Raconteurs on Tour

Semi-hibernating since 2011, the Raconteurs – Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler – took their time in 2018 and early 2019 assembling the cadre of killer songs that is HELP US STRANGER, the band's third studio LP and first new music in over a decade. As it's always been, the Raconteurs feature Benson and White as dual frontmen/guitarists/lead singers/songwriters. The world's best rhythm section of Keeler on drums and Lawrence on bass are in symbiotic shine theory lock step, both brought to the top of their game by the musicianship of the other. Early live performances have left no doubt in anyone's mind: this band is savage. Bounding effortlessly between material off their 2006 debut LP BROKEN BOY SOLDIERS, their 2008 GRAMMY® Award-winning sophomore follow-up CONSOLERS OF THE LONELY, and their recently-penned instant classics, even the most cursory look at the tea leaves delivers an undeniable fortune: The Raconteurs' evergreen take on rock and roll is primed to reinvigorate the genre.

Save for a searing cover of Donovan's "Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)," White and Benson wrote all the songs on HELP US STRANGER. Recorded at Third Man Studios in Nashville, TN, HELP US STRANGER is proof positive a band with chemistry like The Raconteurs has no rust to shake off. They are as scrappy, current, steadfast, and captivating as they were when they first joined forces, and their joy of creating together is satisfyingly palpable. Without paying heed to trend or hype, and showing up just in the knick of time, this album showcases the band's collectivist spirit fully realized, guitar music fully resuscitated, and faith in brotherly love restored. Longtime friends and musical collaborators helped make HELP US STRANGER, including keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Dean Fertita (The Dead Weather, Queens of the Stone Age) and Lillie Mae Rische and her sister Scarlett Rische. The album was mixed by Vance Powell and The Raconteurs at Sputnik Sound in Nashville and mastered at Third Man Mastering in Detroit.

The Raconteurs in Concert

The Raconteurs burst onto the scene in 2006, winning worldwide acclaim, Grammy® nominations, and a chart-topping smash single in "Steady, As She Goes," with their now-classic debut album, BROKEN BOY SOLDIERS. That album received a Grammy® nomination for Best Rock Album, while #1 single "Steady, As She Goes" was nominated for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. The band returned two short years later with 2008's CONSOLERS OF THE LONELY, an album finished less than three weeks before it was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world, its immediate arrival marking it among the first major albums to receive a surprise release with little or no advance promotion. Like its predecessor, the LP proved a popular and critical phenomenon, making a top 5 debut on the Billboard 200 on its way to earning the Grammy® for Best Engineered Non-Classical Album, as well as a nomination for Best Rock Album.

    No Phones GREAT experience

by Rock with Noc on 11/12/19The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St Augustine

I have seen the raconteurs before as well as Jack White, this was by far one of the best shows in a long time, especially with the “no phone“ requirement, finally a chance to watch a show with no one‘s lighting and no one holding a phone in front of me recording there is 30 second shot for Instagram, Way to go Jack ....phenomenal event, the Saint Augustine amphitheater is by far the greatest venue in the United States.

    Best Live Show

by Styler on 11/12/19The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St Augustine

The Raconteurs absolutely brought the house down! Definitely worth the money for the fantastic music and the high energy performance. They played 2 full sets. Never been to another show where the band played for so long (over 2 hours), never lost energy and engaged with the audience. Can't wait to see them again.

    Better than expected

by C. W. on 11/12/19The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St Augustine

I’m from the detroit area and always liked Jack White. I went with my son and his wife as many of my friends were not familiar with this band. They were amazing and exceeded all expectations. I would go see them again anytime and would encourage those with no experience with this band to check them out.

    High Ampage

by Iggy on 11/12/19The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St Augustine

Sat in the upper level. Acoustics were amazing. Sight line was awesome, great incline on seats. Loved how different the two bands were. Easy to get in and out of venue. Very clean. Personable staff. Good variety of beverages (they even stocked non alcoholic beer for me!). Prices were ridiculous as always at these venues. I am sure most younger adults don’t drink so they can afford merchandise. Parking was convenient, pricing not so sweet. Loved that they took phones away so nobody would block my view by taking videos. Cool they are trying to help environment with cup return. Would be great if venue gave a small momentous of show like decal for truck or car window which the beer guys could pay for from their ridiculous profits. Overall excellent experience. Would go back again, again and again.

    Phones

by Aggravating on 11/12/19The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St Augustine

The band insisted on having everyone’s phones locked away at entry to the venue, sealed in an unopenable pouch. Very irritating, and made it near impossible for all of us to meet up before the show. Furthermore, I am a doctor on call, and this left no way for patients to reach me. That left me going in and out the whole show so that I could check for messages. All because the band is so full of themselves that they think a cell phone picture is going to be worth something. The next time, let your fans know BEFORE they buy a ticket, so we can decide whether to even go.

    Great show, kinda short

    by linnie on 11/12/19

Great band, they came on at 8:15, did a short set, left and came back and played till 10pm. I’ve been to longer concerts for less money for sure, but I did get my money’s worth. Nice, tight band. Enjoy!

    Mediocre at best

by Grant on 11/12/19The St. Augustine Amphitheatre - St Augustine

Started off the night by taking our cell phones and locking them up. Then Jack White’s microphone was synthesized the way too loud and distorted. Acoustic songs were much better. Great musicians, but I wouldn’t see it live again.

    Best concert ever!

by Newo13 on 11/11/19Fillmore New Orleans - New Orleans

The Raconteurs were beyond amazing with the most energy I’ve ever seen from them! The venue was also such a nice change from Voodoo fest. It was the perfect size and the sound was awesome.

    Raconteurs in B'ham

by The Milk Man on 11/11/19Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

Didn't know if I would like having my phone locked up. Turns out I loved it! We forget how plugged in we are until it's not an option. It really helped to take in the experience. Went with my son. Afterwards he said, "Jack White is my all time favorite musician!" Mine too! I've seen Aerosmith, GNR, and the Black Keys - all great bands, but no one put on a show like the Raconteurs in Birmingham! It was on the level! If you get a chance to take in a show at the Alabama Theatre, I highly recommend it - a great facility for a great event! Theatre staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy to get in and easy to get out. Great experience all around!

    by J. C. on 11/11/19Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

One of the best shows we've ever been to. Phone free was amazing, crowd was more into it than I've ever seen. Phone case was a little clunky but totally worth it. Raconteurs are the freaking real deal. Love the Alabama Theatre, one of our favorites.

    They Rocked

    by 1Nutt on 11/11/19Alabama Theatre - Birmingham

Great event. The wife never really went to events like The Roconteurs. And It’s been a few years for myself as I’m “older” now. We both questioned the no phone process because we were worried about taking more time in & out of the venue. It was so simple. All shows should have it. Getting in was no problem. It was pretty much a sold out show. the beer & bathroom lines all moved quickly. The show was awesome. Security made themselves known but let folks enjoy the moment. The Alabama Theater is a fantastic venue for these type shows. The staff was over the top helpful & patient. With this great experience This old man may just become a regular on the concert scene once again. AAA+++
