The Raconteurs on Tour

Semi-hibernating since 2011, the Raconteurs – Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler – took their time in 2018 and early 2019 assembling the cadre of killer songs that is HELP US STRANGER, the band's third studio LP and first new music in over a decade. As it's always been, the Raconteurs feature Benson and White as dual frontmen/guitarists/lead singers/songwriters. The world's best rhythm section of Keeler on drums and Lawrence on bass are in symbiotic shine theory lock step, both brought to the top of their game by the musicianship of the other. Early live performances have left no doubt in anyone's mind: this band is savage. Bounding effortlessly between material off their 2006 debut LP BROKEN BOY SOLDIERS, their 2008 GRAMMY® Award-winning sophomore follow-up CONSOLERS OF THE LONELY, and their recently-penned instant classics, even the most cursory look at the tea leaves delivers an undeniable fortune: The Raconteurs' evergreen take on rock and roll is primed to reinvigorate the genre.

Save for a searing cover of Donovan's "Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)," White and Benson wrote all the songs on HELP US STRANGER. Recorded at Third Man Studios in Nashville, TN, HELP US STRANGER is proof positive a band with chemistry like The Raconteurs has no rust to shake off. They are as scrappy, current, steadfast, and captivating as they were when they first joined forces, and their joy of creating together is satisfyingly palpable. Without paying heed to trend or hype, and showing up just in the knick of time, this album showcases the band's collectivist spirit fully realized, guitar music fully resuscitated, and faith in brotherly love restored. Longtime friends and musical collaborators helped make HELP US STRANGER, including keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Dean Fertita (The Dead Weather, Queens of the Stone Age) and Lillie Mae Rische and her sister Scarlett Rische. The album was mixed by Vance Powell and The Raconteurs at Sputnik Sound in Nashville and mastered at Third Man Mastering in Detroit.

The Raconteurs in Concert

The Raconteurs burst onto the scene in 2006, winning worldwide acclaim, Grammy® nominations, and a chart-topping smash single in "Steady, As She Goes," with their now-classic debut album, BROKEN BOY SOLDIERS. That album received a Grammy® nomination for Best Rock Album, while #1 single "Steady, As She Goes" was nominated for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. The band returned two short years later with 2008's CONSOLERS OF THE LONELY, an album finished less than three weeks before it was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world, its immediate arrival marking it among the first major albums to receive a surprise release with little or no advance promotion. Like its predecessor, the LP proved a popular and critical phenomenon, making a top 5 debut on the Billboard 200 on its way to earning the Grammy® for Best Engineered Non-Classical Album, as well as a nomination for Best Rock Album.

    Here now, not dead yet.

by Kat on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

I love Jack White, and the entire music catalog of the Raconteurs as well... so this show already had that going for it. Even so, the venue was great – big enough while still feeling fairly 'intimate'. The light show in time with the music, the energy of JWiii and the rest of the group, and the awe-inspiring guitar solos made for a great concert. I also appreciated that everything from the tickets (all General Admission) to the swag were reasonably priced. A working person's show for sure. That, and all of the details (newsie uniforms for the roadies, glow in the dark ink on all the tees for sale, Yondr pouches for the phone-free experience) were all in line with who Jack White seems to be as a person (a quirky, musical and creative genius who is also down to earth). I didn't get any photos of the show (obviously), but I've been reliving my memories of the night in a way that I don't usually do in the world of SmartPhones. Appreciated the unplugged aspect of a highly charged night!

    Best show of the year!

    by A. B. on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

We go to a LOT of concerts, and this one was amazing. We were kind of ticked off about the arrogance of not allowing cell phones--but you know what? It actually made the concert a better experience. Jack and the guys gave an A+ performance and the crowd could not have been happier. Go see the Raconteurs. You will remember that night for a long time to come.

    Killer performance

    by A. W. on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

My fiancé loves this band and took me to go see them and it was well worth going to. Jack White sure know me how to command an audience. Despite the terrible acoustics in the WAMU theater they sounded solid. Can’t wait to see them again.

Jack White could be arrested if his guitar is under 18 y/o

by Captain SkeetCannon on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

This is one of those bands you will be able to tell your kids one day, “Yeah, I saw Jack White with the Raconteurs back in ‘19,” and it will yield the same envy as when you heard your gran pappy recount his trip watching Led Zep at Royal Albert Hall.

    My son’s birthday!

by Janine on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

The overall experience was great! Only concerts my son will go to a Jack White related. Lines moved nicely and the staff was very gracious. Other acts cannot claim that. Need better openers.

    Best Rock Show, maybe ever?

by AshlynnOneTree on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

I have been waiting to see this band again for 10 years, and let me say, my expectations were high, but they still knocked us out of the park. Great energy, great sound and a band that is clearly having as much fun up there as we are watching. The Jack White\Brendan Benson frontman combination is just so perfectly yin and yang. Oh, and Dean Fertita was there too, that was an unexpected treat! I’d go again in a hot second! Also, I love that they take people’s phone last away. It’s so nice to see strangers being forced to converse again, and listening to people say at the end of the show “oh gosh, I just realized I haven’t looked at my phone for two hours, how cool”.

    Spectacular Surprise

by J Daddy on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

I went to Seattle for a Rock Concert. When I realized The Raconteurs were performing on the following evening I looked for tickets. Ticketmaster made it extremely easy to purchase and transfer the tickets via the app. It was my first time doing a transfer. My first time attending an event at the WaMu Theater. Surprisingly, my first time seeing The Raconteurs! It was one of the best performances I've had the privilege to witness. I have been looking at the Jack White stuff in news and on the tube, but what I saw on stage was way more than what I expected. I have seen hundreds of concerts. This is truely a new favorite band!

    Great Show!

by Pam on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

Jack White is always good but he is great with The Raconteurs. The sound was clear and just loud enough and the song selection was stellar. There was a nice mix of old and new songs all with high energy. I would highly recommend this show!

    Amazing!!

by Tiffani on 7/21/19WAMU Theater - Seattle

I love the no phone rule. It makes you be in the moment, enjoying the now. Don't waste time taking video that you'll never watch again. It ruins other peoples experience. Nobody wants to see the show through your phone screen. People skip past them on your social media feeds too!!! Thank you Jack White, thank you!!

    Amazing show

    by D-nice8703 on 7/19/19Armory - Minneapolis

They played an amazing set filled with songs from each of their albums- all of which I am extremely fond of. The show was full of energy and Jack White had many guitar solos too. Sooooo much fun getting back to the roots of the 'ol days where we didnt view our lives through the screen of our cell phones!!!

Excellent venue for a great band

by Kris on 7/18/19Armory - Minneapolis

First off, the entry and security people were on point! Everyone got in smoothly and quickly. Staff made us feel like guests, not suspects. Then, the numerous bars and spacious & clean bathrooms were great! Finally, the acoustics seemed pretty good and the Raconteurs put on a fabulous show! Zero complaints, such a great evening!

Armory needs to elevate the stage

    by S. on 7/18/19Armory - Minneapolis

It is so big that you can’t see the stage. The band was great to hear but they need to make it so that people in the middle on the floor can actually see the band. Great band - terrible venue

Great Sound - Tuff to see

by Jere on 7/18/19Armory - Minneapolis

Jack White is one of my favorite artists and I was excited to hear The Raconteurs were coming out with a new album and coming to The Armory to entertain us. The only reason I am unable to rate 5 stars is the line of site from the concession stands was terrible, I am over 6 ft tall and could barely get a glimpse from my tip-toes, everything else was quite grand, the acoustics, rest rooms and concessions were in abundance and well served. I was with a group of 9, so we weren't up for roaming around trying to find a better spot. Thanks.

The Raconteurs- high energy great show

    by R. H. on 7/18/19Armory - Minneapolis

Phone free show is great concept. Wasn’t disturbed by everyone holding their phone in the air. The Armory venue is awesome.

    Raconteurs

    by J. A. on 7/18/19Armory - Minneapolis

I had a great experience! ...doesn't hurt that the band is/was epic. The security, phone, ticket line process was very clean and easy...pretty fast! Despite showing up close to start of show, we got a great vantage point near the stage, and were able to stand there throughout. The acoustics were great, and the rock n roll was unreal. The only downside from my perspective was the crowd. We were not frantic enough to match the band's enthusiasm. I wanted to Jack and the Racs to come away from the show with a sense that we love great music in MN, but instead it felt like we were content to cheer at the "proper times" and let them go about the rest of their night. Oh well! Great show and venue!

    First time

    by J. on 7/18/19Armory - Minneapolis

Super fun! There are two entries, one line was significantly shorter than the other. No cell phones allowed (except for the one who smuggled hers in her you-know-what) no pics so that was a bummer. The opening act was ok, not what I expected and the crowd didn’t seem too interested. Sound and lights were awesome! Small enough venue to see from anywhere. Drinks were $9 a piece but hefty on the vodka! Getting out took awhile due to having your phone get unlocked from its jail cell. No seating in general admission. I want more!
