About

To celebrate two decades of 'Give Up' and 'Transatlanticism', The Postal Service & Death Cab for Cutie have joined forces for an unprecedented 20th anniversary co-headline tour. Each night, Benjamin Gibbard, the co-founder of both bands, will pull double duty performing with The Postal Service - comprised of Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis - as well as with Death Cab for Cutie (alongside Nick Harmer, Dave Depper, Zac Rae, and Jason McGerr). The extraordinary live run will see both iconic groups performing their seminal 2003 albums in full.

Awesome show for playing really old songs!!!

by BttrflyScrmr on 6/4/13Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

Really nothing much to tell except, I had standing tickets and should have worn more comfortable shoes. :) Also, Cedar Park Center isn't cheap on anything (food, drinks, etc.). Their light show was great and so was the sound. I was not fond of the opening act at all.

    Once in a lifetime concert

by LalaRiot on 6/4/13Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

This was by far the best show I have been too. I lovedRaRaRiot, but Postal Service was awesome. The production value of the show was really good, amazing light displays that perfectly matched the music. Ben Gibbard had amazing energy and Jenny Lewis interacted with the crowd as she played. Definitely worth the wait. I also have to say that the venue employees were super nice too. Seemed like they haven't had very many big shows there, but everyone was great.

    The Postal Service was AWESOME

by Morgandalf512 on 6/4/13Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

They had such high energy that was contagious! My husband and I were surprised at how great and exciting the concert was; they were fabulous! In my TOP 5 concerts for sure.

    Most disappointing show

by Anonymous on 6/4/13Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

This band needs to fire whoever was in charge of the sound system at Cedar Park Center. This was the most disappointing live show I've ever seen. They had the bass cranked up so high it was drowning out all the other instruments and some of the vocals as well. This is not a dancefloor house band. It's the freaking Postal Service. I don't know what they were thinking, but it just sounded absolutely awful. If I want bass I can feel in my stomach I'll go clubbing.

    perfection

by vancail on 6/4/13Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

The Postal service was so much more than expected. We've always lived then but that show went the extra mile for my girlfriend and I. We have a special appreciation for them that started close to a decade ago. To see them live and feel the genuine positive energy they transpired was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I am so grateful to have been a part of such a romantic and engaging evening.

    SOLID SHOW

by efox3765 on 6/4/13Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

Ben Gibbard came out with lots of energy as expected. I saw him play with DCFC in Seattle when I lived there back in 2011 and this concert was edgier with the P.S. faster beats and loud bass reverberating your entire body. He played 75% old songs, 25% new. Old songs still sound the best. The light show on stage was fun to get lost in and matched the rhythms and tones of each song perfectly. Cool how Ben played both guitar and drums too. He is a true musician, and one of the few capable of writing really creative and good sounding music. The only drawback to the concert was the short 1 hr 15 min setlist. I guess P.S. doesn't really have as large a pool of songs to draw from with only one official album released in a decade. Overall, this was an easy access, fun concert so you should go see it if you get a chance! By the way, the opening act, Ra Ra Riot was very talented. Their music was a good prelude to Postal. -EFOX

    Postal Service Delivered!

by amandasg on 6/4/13Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

I'm sorry, I had to pun. I can't help myself. But the show was fantastic! The openers Ra Ra Riot had a great sound and I'll be checking out more from them in the future. As far as The Postal Service goes, they included all the best songs off Give Up, some new ones that sounded great live (most with a very danceable beat), and even a little Dntel thrown in for good measure. Despite being up front, the crowd wasn't shove-y at all and was overall very chill and enjoying it, and I finally got a chance to see a group that I never thought I'd get the chance to, right in my own backyard! Yaaayyy!!

    VIVA LA POSTAL SERVICE!!

by LyzzyLyz on 6/3/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

This particular event was summed up best in Ben Gibbard's words, "It's amazing to see you all care about this album ten years later..." It's not often you find a band that can produce something so amazing that in fact, ten years later, we are all there to see it preformed live. It was the best ten year reunion I have ever been to. That's for sure. Ben was feeling a little under the weather and joked about how we were in for a treat because it's going to be a Tom Waits version of their album. Quite frankly, if that were true, I would have been just as excited. I was just thankful that Gibbard wasn't a pussy like Morrissey - who cancelled a string of his events on his most recent tour, one of which was in Colorado. Anyhow, the Postal Service's "Give Up" will forever be in my personal best top five albums of all time.

Fantastic - better than the studio versions

by TheHog on 6/3/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

I had a feeling the concert would be fun, but didn't know that they would be going into some experimental, interesting directions as well. Great performance, especially given that Ben Gibbard lost his voice the day before. The visual/light show was a great accompaniment too - fit the style of the music perfectly. Ben and the lead female singer had fun interaction on the stage. The other background female singer seemed to be forgotten by all though. Great evening and perfect first concert for me at Red Rocks this summer!

    Amazing night!

by LoHo1217 on 6/3/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

I was so happy to get the chance to see them. I even skipped school to go to the show. The night was perfect, the show was exactly what I expected and more. I sang all the lyrics to every song and everyone around me was doing the same. So happy they came through Colorado and were greeted with open arms. I hope that this might be the beginning to a second album that is just as amazing and yet another tour and show at Red Rocks!! Thanks guys for making this one of those shows I will always remember.

    Amazing enduring performance

by Qwerty112 on 6/2/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

The Postal service was great. Period. They were tired vocally and physically you could tell but they performed for us and we left smiling. They even did an encore! It's a hike to get to your seat but it was well worth it to watch them perform the songs we've been listening to on our crappy stereo for 10 years.
