I thought that the play was MAGNIFICENT!!! Everything about it was SUPERB from the story line to the singing dancing and acting. Each actor/actress was outstanding and made each character they portrayed believable. I can't wait to see it again.
Truly delightful! The performance was definitely a "today" twist on the original cinderella story. The performers, the costumes, the props were wonderful! Each character played their roles flawlessly. I look forward to attending more from this group.
I never heard the story of Cinderella told like that. It was funny and very entertaining. It is a must see!!!!!!
I truly enjoyed this play. It got off to a slow start, but it ended up being extremely entertaining. The theatre was not very elaborate, but the show was quite funny and the spin on the characters was very creative and colorful. The stepsisters were over the top in a good way. I would definitely suggest seeing this and I would go see it again!
It was great. Too funny and acting is superb. Not for little kids in my opinion. Great for adults and teens. Cant wait to see the Luther production.
This was a great production. There are very few actual props in this show but the costumes are great. The acting and singing were awesome. Because the Black Ensemble is such a small and intimate theater you are really close to the action. I mean you may literally have an actor sitting right next to you doing a scene. This particular Cinderella could be a little sarcastic and sassy at times and you really could feel Stepmama's pain. I love it when character's aren't all good or bad but have some depth to them. They tried to put in a message about acceptance that felt kind of dated and out of place in the production but otherwise is was a great show. Perfect for all ages.
This is a wonderfully enjoyable retelling of the old story. The setting is in the Kingdom of the Other which seems a bit like Chicago. Some of the performers have wonderful voices. The wicked stepmother gives an incredible performance. I felt energized by the experience.
A classic story with a new twist!! Great songs, a lot of attitude and a bunch of laughs.
It was wonderul. I highly reccomend it. You will laugh laugh laugh. The singing is great!!! All the cast members have wonderful strong voices and they can SING!!!!!!!!!
It was funny from beginning to end. The music was excellent and the characters were enjoyable.
the sound system was of very poor quality. hard to hear and understand what the actors were singing and / saying.
A refeshing comedy filled with great singing and punchlines. This is a wonderful show for the young and mature audiences. I took my teenage daughters and cousins and we all really enjoyed the performances. I've already called several friends to tell them it's a must see production!
This play was great. It was a good night out with friends. Family friendly atmosphere, and great play and singing for all ages.
My wife & I and friends had a great time, we plan on coming to next play also.
The music and dancing were great. I have seen other plays at this Theater and although I enjoyed other storylines more, their take on Cinderella was very good. If you're looking for something to do that the whole family can enjoy, I recommend this play. It has some truly funny moments with a touch of serious blended in.
I thought it was above average. It made me laugh and singing was great.
"The Other Cinderella" is absolutely amazing and I actually want to go see it again and soon. If you've never seen it, I highly recommend this play!!
I treated my friend for a birthday outing along with with other girlfriends. We truly enjoyed ourselves. It was my 3rd time seeing the play and I always have fun. There is always a new twist to the play so maybe next year will be my 4th time. I truly recommend the play. A must see
The show was original and the voices of Cinderella & the Prince were excellent. Some of the other characters really couldn't sing (the page). However, what some lacked in vocal ability (the page) they made up with their comedy :) For the price I paid I expected a better set. Aside from sparkling curtains and few chairs there was no real set to speak of. The costumes were nice and looked pricey. I would suggest that less money be spent on the custom "zoot" suits and more on the general set. I do like the Black Ensemble and enjoy their performances but for the price ($45 adult / $40 child) of this play I was expecting a little bit more.
