The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Show Tickets

When we purchased these tickets for the Oak Ridge Boys Christmas show it was mainly because we knew the theatre was closing and this was the grand finale concert. What we did not realize was exactly how great this band is, nor did we know that they have played this Christmas concert there every year since the Holiday Star opened about 40 years ago. Many in the audience have been to every concert and have made it a family tradition. And does the audience ever love these guys. Many of the audience actually brought wrapped gifts for the band and their crew. It was a very emotional concert and many tears were shed as this brought an end to tradition, this beautiful theatre, and The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas concert. I had no idea how loved these guys are and it was moving to watch as they returned sentiments to the audience. Hands down one of the most moving concerts I have ever been to. Oh, and did I mention how fantastick this band is. Wish we had gone to one of their concerts in previous years. Hopefully they will return somewhere near to do a concert. A sad ending to a venue that we enjoyed for many, many years. Holiday Star will be greatly missed by all who have enjoyed their line-up !!

My wife and I attended the Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Special at the Star Theater in Merrillville IN. Their performance was amazing, as it always is, and William Lee Golden showed why the Oaks are a class act in country music. I would highly recommend for anyone to go see the Oak Ridge Boys!!!

What a tremendous way for the Star Plaza to go out. The Boys were as good as ever, and left no dry eyes in the building.

Oak Ridge Boys was the best group to perform at the last show for the Star Plaza in Merrillville, IN. Excellent show highly recommend to see them at any venue. Well worth the money!!!!

Great show , great seats and the sound was very good

One of the Oaks best shows and a fitting end to an era at Star Plaza. Lots of great memories shared. Will miss this awesome place and can’t wait to see the Oaks again when they come to our area.

My wife and I saw the oaks at star plaza many years ago for their regular show. The nostalgia of the venue closing brought us back again for the Christmas show. What a SURPRISE! Their whole show was awesome and family friendly. The sound was great. The stage set was awesome especially when they were sitting and talking in front of the fire. GO SEE THEM. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Best concert I have ever been to great time for everyone

It was a special night in Merrillville because it was the last show before they close the doors for good. Oak Ridge Boys were the first show to ever be there and also the last which made it very special. They were on stage for 3 hrs with no break and gave the audience many added things like having Santa give each child in the audience a Santa hat. That amounted to what seemed like 50+ people. They sang their hearts out and gave us a fantastic show.

I saw the Oak Ridge Boys at the Star Plaza for the last time Sunday night. I have seen them many MANY times over the years, and to think that this might be the last time is heartbreaking. Still, this was a beautiful finale. As usual, it was all about the fans. They shared pieces of their hearts with the audience. From Santa passing out hats to all the kids (and there were a lot) to the guys sitting in rocking chairs and sharing past memories, they did not disappoint. I could have listened to them sing forever - and they sang for two hours without an intermission. Richard's voice still makes the seats vibrate. Joe still bounces all over the stage with tons of energy. William Lee still touches my heart every time he takes off his cowboy hat to give thanks (and letting the little blind boy touch his beard can melt even the grinch's heart). And Duane - well, he's still Duane. :-) Since this was there last time at the Star Plaza, I would have liked to hear more of their big hits like "Bobby Sue" and "Dream On", but they WERE doing a Christmas show so I guess it made sense to do more Christmas songs. What it boils down to is that if you want to hear good harmony from the classiest and nicest group of men in country music, you MUST see them in concert.

It was an excellent concert. They pulled out all the stops and did lots of great Christmas songs plus their hits,Santa Claus,and the Oaks sharing memories of what Christmas means to them. It was bittersweet however since this was the last concert at Star Plaza. Many wonderful memories of attending so many great concerts there and a great facility including the hotel. The powers that be should reconsider and renovate the theater and add a high end hotel.

One of the best shows I have seen, they are amazing and the Star Plaza is one the top of my list of great places for seeing this type of show, It should stay open for many more years.

First before I talk about the show have to say it’s sad to see the Star Plaza closing. It has great sight lines and a great sound system. Northwest Indiana will miss having this venue. Now the show it was part Christmas part greatest hits. Yes I know they say it’s a Christmas Show, but they could have played more than 6 or 7 hits and a patriotic indulgence. It could have been so much more since this was the 111th time they performed here. It was fine but it could have been memorable.

Excellent choice of songs and staging. Really liked the falling snow during the Christmas half of the show! Great singing and blended harmonies.

Very good concert. The Boys voices are great as ever.

We thoroughly enjoyed the show, especially the second half. The sets were beautiful, and the reminiscing time spent in the rocking chairs was sweet. It was a good mix of favorite oldies and Christmas favorites. The show started out with the band being too loud and drowning out the singers as is often the case, but the mix settled out and was good for the rest of the show. It would have been fun to have some of the older 70s or so shots of the Boys projected on the jumbotrons.

Every year we go to some type of a Christmas event. We have found that it really helps with getting into the Holiday spirit. This concert was enjoyed by all 8 of us. Thanks for the great show and venue.

The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas concert was the best Christmas gift I ever gave myself. Thoroughly enjoyed it, what a great evening. Exceeded my expectations. Would recommend it for anyone to see that grew up listening to their music.

Their concert was totally awesome. They never disappoint!!!
