  • Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Show --- 1 word FANTASITC

by STBLA74 on 11/22/16Golden Nugget - Lake Charles - Lake CharlesRating: 4 out of 5

My mom, aunt, two sisters, boyfriend and I traveled more than 75 miles to the Lake Charles LA show and loved the show. Was very disappointed that they only sang 3 of their own songs (only reason for the 4 stars), but all in all was a fantastic show. The guys kept singing and dancing the whole time.

  • Oak Ridge "Boys" are past their prime

I love this group. We have been to countless shows throughout the South. Their shows are ALWAYS professional and enjoyable. However, when three of them appear slouchy and poorly groomed, it takes away from the show. Only Golden looked appropriately dressed and well-groomed. Since this Christmas tour is just starting, I hope someone forces the others to notice the details of their appearance. The voices are fine, but that is not up to the level from the past. Sterban still has the growl, and Bonsall is on key. Duane needs help, and he is lead. Golden is still golden. Sterban needs dental work. Duane appears sick. Look carefully at clothing choices! It is hard to accept the ravages of age, but the outstanding show would have been better served by some attention to details of appearance. Long live the Oak Ridge Boys, but this tour will be very difficult for them. Studio work is their mainstay at this point in their careers.

  • Good

Good show, good music especially if you are a fan of the old stuff. But also great Christmas music to get you in the Christmas spirit. As you might expect it was very much an older crowd and we were the youngest( I'm 41) by at least 2 decades, but nonetheless was a good time.

A wonderful show. They sang their country songs, Christmas songs, and gospel songs and it was put together perfectly.

  • The Oak Ridge Boys are my poets.

First time to see a Christmas show and it was very good. Loved the fireplace scene. Santa Clause gave my granddaughter a hat something she will never forget. Oh how I wish they had performed the song "My Son My Son" . The first time I heard that song was when we bought the "Bagged Christmas Special" in Biloxi, Mississippi. I was 71 at the time and I couldn't believe that I had never heard such a beautiful song. There were several songs that I had not heard on those albums. Even though I had to learn to drive in the "turn around" traffic circles with a little "help from my husband I would go again tomorrow. Thanks Oak Ridge Boys!!

  • Love, Love the Oak Ridge Boys

I see them every time that the Oak Ridge Boys come to Biloxi. Their show is full of energy and laughter as well as the great songs sung by them. I advise anyone who is a fan of the Oak Ridge Boys to take the time out of their evening to go see them when they come to your town.

  • Christmas Show

by disappointedoldfan on 11/21/16Golden Nugget - Biloxi - BiloxiRating: 2 out of 5

Not up to the standard they had set with their Regular show. Too many solo's and the fireside 'CHAT" was more information than we need. I would pass on their appearance next year if they return with the Christmas Show.

  • So Enjoyable!

by NannyVee on 11/21/16Golden Nugget - Biloxi - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was packed and for good reason! Yeah, they're getting older but so are we! The show was very entertaining. No intermission and GREAT music! It was their Christmas show but they sang Elvira which brought the house down. At one point during the show, they sat in rocking chairs by a "fireplace" and told us a little about themselves. You could have heard a pin drop. When they sang "Why God Made Kids," there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Loved the whole experience!

  • Oak Ridge Boys did a great job!

by lovemusic10 on 12/31/15Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed the quietness of this concert. Everyone was very respectable to the crowd. The only thing that really bothered me was the people and their phones:( The screen still lights up and many people don't think it bothers others:(! One guy in front of us was talking to his daughter FaceTime during the show:(( Really annoying..I told him to take it outside or hang it up!!

  • A Great Christmas Present

Took family to see the Mighty Oaks for Christmas. We had great seats, great view, and very, very happy with song selection. 1st half was the country tunes, then after intermission they switched over to Christmas. Beautifully done.

  • The Boys Still Have It!!

by PooleFan on 12/28/15Old National Events Plaza - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great!! To have been performing as many years as the Oaks have been they must love entertaining their fans. Two hours is a long concert for fellows their age but the music and friendly conversation was non-stop. Santa's visit was an added nice surprise. As long as they keep touring, I will keep attending their concerts.

  • by Anonymous on 12/25/15Philips Arena - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

It was an enjoyable show! We just wish there was more Christmas music. The first half was not Christmas music. Enjoyed each member sharing a bit about his family/Christmas traditions.

Show was very good but I think I prefer their regular show rather than the holiday one. I missed hearing more of their songs.
