The Sound of Philadelphia is alive and well...
by freditor on 7/11/09Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk - Universal CityRating: 3 out of 5Every group of singers in this show was terrific. It was an amazing array of artists, from the Delfonics, to the Blue Notes, to the Stylistics to the O'Jays, the last of which was truly the show highlight. My complaint: all of the groups who preceded the Stylistics did a maximum of three songs. The Stylistics set ran maybe 30 minutes long, and the O'Jays' was only about 45 minutes. The latter didn't come close to playing all of their hits. It was terrific to see all of these legendary groups on one stage -- this is why I'm recommending the show -- I just wish they were out there longer.
