    It was great.

by Jimmy on 12/19/18New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

We loved it. My girls saw the nutcracker for the first time and they enjoyed every bit of it. The only thing i would suggest is to have an announcementfor the break.. Ppl were not quite sure if it was a break or the show ended.

    Nutcracker

by Angut on 12/19/18New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Overall they kept the storyline but there wasn’t any wow moments in the dancing. There was more than one person falling asleep in the ballet.

The Russian (not so) Grand Ballet

by LeighHoff on 12/20/17Wilshire Ebell Theatre - Los Angeles

I should have done my research. I love ballet, I love Christmas traditions and because of that I'm willing to forgive quite a bit when it comes to performances. But wow. My first clue that this would be sub-par was when we were walking behind the venue to get to the entrance and spied some of the Corps in their costumes smoking in the back alley. The venue was much smaller than I expected, but the next clue was that it did not have an orchestra pit. Um, canned, recorded music for the Nutcracker? I couldn't tell if one of the speakers wasn't working or it was just really poor quality. And then the actual ballet... Mikhail Baryshnikov or Natalia Bessmertnova this was most certainly not. This was terrible. I think one of the dancers was chewing gum. Some of them looked to be like they were nursing injuries or had simply given up. Or maybe they were great dancers stymied by kindergarten choreography. I actually got the church giggles at one point it was so bad. The principals were just fine, but everyone else seemed like they were in a high school production. Uncle Drosselmeyer didn't even dance, he just moved from pose to pose and looked predatory. And men, if you are going to wear white tights, please make sure they are not threadbare. The other costumes were lovely and traditional, even if they smelled like smoke. Save your money for the Bolshoi or the Kirov when they come to town.

A good value for the price.

by ddefaz on 12/19/17Wilshire Ebell Theatre - Los Angeles

We enjoyed the show. The dancers were good. We would not have attended had we known there would be recorded music and painted sets but in retrospect we were satisfied with the evening.

    Wonderful show

by Shreveport2 on 12/14/17Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium - Shreveport

This was a great show. My 6 Year old enjoyed a lot which including the music, story and the presentation. She was so familiar with this story that she could keep up with it and even expected what next dance was about. She is a little ballerina too. She told me the particular movement needed lots practicing. We would love to go back to watch one more time.
