    Show ended way too early!

by festhead on 4/29/24House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

Show was called for 9 with an opener. They played less than an hour and were done with the encore by 11. There was no other act afterwards at HoB so this was very odd for a Jazz Fest late night show. Perhaps they had better places to be.

    Top of their game!

by Eegs on 4/23/24The Fillmore - San Francisco

Terrific show. The brought the energy and never let up. They were "tight"but far from boring. Individually they are great, but as a band they're even better!

    Funk jam band

by Robusta on 4/23/24The Fillmore - San Francisco

This band funks the house. They'd settle deeply into a funky groove that has your body moving and jamming then so subtly and smoothly you realized they've changed it up, and you're moving your body in a whole new way. What? When? Doesn't matter - it was All. So. Good.

New master sounds late night New years

by Scotty B on 1/3/20Gramercy Theatre - New York

The theater is really great.the staff was fantastic The band was on fire. But the rub was that something was just a bit off with the sound, don't get me wrong. The sound was good just not great. I don't know if it was the engineer or the sound system itself.. But we had a great time!!

    Awesome show

by Craig on 10/19/19Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

The musicians in this band are unbelievable. They get rolling on some fast swinging grooves that are so much fun to watch and listen to. If you haven’t heard them, watch a YouTube and then multiply by 2 for the live experience. Now on my list of “never miss” bands. Highly recommend.

Great band at a great venue

by Lark on 5/18/19Aura - Portland

The New Mastersounds brought their blend of funk and soul to Aura on May 15. If you can sit still during their tunes, you must be in a coma! They rocked the house, segueing seamlessly from funk to R&B to jazz to soul and back again. Lamar Williams Jr.'s vocals were incredible. I'd never seen him before, but he made me a fan in just one evening. A highlight of the show was when saxophonist Cory Schectman (of The New Motif) joined them onstage and proceeded to blow the house down! You could practically see the energy bouncing between Schectman and guitarist Eddie Roberts. Aura is a great venue in downtown Portland, with your choice of an open floor in front of the band and comfy seats in the balcony. Sight-wise and acoustically, there's not a bad seat in the house. The vibe is pretty intimate, even though the venue can hold 1,000 people. Parking is easy, with a lot/garage right next door. Staff is pleasant and efficient and drinks are available. Definitely worth checking out!
