Ok, but really depressing

The venue staff was courteous and efficient. The place was very clean. Traffic patterns were well arranged, and designed. The event itself was great, fun, and everything I expected it to be.
Great moving story-telling. The audience was whole-heartedly engaged. Absolutely would go again another year.
The host was mediocre, occasionally fun, but often rambling. All 5 storytellers were good, but none was compelling.
Peter, the emcee, was hysterical and warm. MaryKay’s flute music added a wonderful dimension to the performance. The Moth never fails to make me smile, make me cry, make me cheer and always leaves me wanting more! Thank you!
Brilliant, moving, and inspirational! We were so happy to attend this event.
The Moth storytellers were all excellent and the stories were moving and fun to listen to. Would go again in a heartbeat
Easy check in, no lines at The State despite being a sold out show. Started on time and we loved it just like the podcast…Musician was sensational. The emcee celebrated his 50th state performance and seemed happy to be there…Show was 5 stories with a quick intermission..Loved it..
We did not enjoy. 1st story teller was good, but the other 4 made us feel like they were on some personal cause. Guess we were expecting a more uplifting event. To us, this was quite dark.
Truth is stranger than fiction and more poignant and funny too! Each of the story tellers brought spectacular stories that made us feel, laugh, cry and wonder at the amazing diversity of human experience and how we have more in common than we don't. So nice to feel this in these divisive times.
A wonderful evening. All 5 stories were well told. Emcee did a great job (except I was surprised he had notes about the story tellers-the special thing about Moth is no notes. Small thing. Great evening.
Awesome evening at the historic Somerville theater! So incredible to be in person for an amazing line up of fabulous story tellers
Venue is beautiful, staff is very helpful. Can’t wait to goto another one. I highly recommend this place!
First social event during the pandemic. The Moth storytellers were terrific. There was laughter, tears, shock, heartwarming support and outrage too. What a night!!
The Moth Mainstage was everything the radio program has and more of it. Plus, you get the un-cut, gut punching reality that can only happen live. I will be looking for the next live, local event but at a venue with more leg room! The Music Hall in Detroit was a bit squishy
We have always wanted to see the Moth in person. Mostly it did not disappoint. The stories were interesting and just about the right amount of time. The music from Six Mile Strings? had a lot of energy. Most people complied with the mask request.
The show itself was great. No enforcement of mask requirments.
I could’ve sat there all night listening to stories at the Moth show. Sharing insight into the story teller’s deeply personal experiences makes you feel like a best friend who has known them for years. The whole audience became friends.
The mainstage event was everything I hoped it would be! Awesome host, compelling stories, and a lovely musical surprise after the intermission. I'm thrilled to have experienced it in person! Perfect! Traffic management left a lot to be desired. Guests were only allowed in through one entrance, and traffic was being routed in from just one side of the one open doorway. (The venue has at least three doors in front of the building). The line was literally wrapped around the block. When we walked past the door to find our place in the line, the man checking IDs and vaccination cards was basically barking orders at people. By the time we got to the door, he was calmer but not particularly polite. We barely made it to our seats as the program was beginning, but the poor people left in line likely missed the intro and possibly the first story. It would have been a courtesy to hold the curtain to accommodate the extremely long line of people still waiting to enter the building. My guest and I have been to many events at this venue and this is the first time we have encountered this situation, which is why it was so surprising. Hopefully, tweaks will be made for future events.
The Music Hall is a great venue! The staff was extremely helpful, the place was super clean and sanitized. This was my first time here but it definitely will not be the last!
