  • The Spoonfull

by Fossil on 12/3/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The band came prepared and delivered a great night of nostalgia. All the hits plus many more from their individual past relationships with other bands. It’s sad the crowd was small but it certainly didn’t dampen their ability to knock it out. Great night and great memories.

  • Not as expected

by Lou on 12/3/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Lovin Spoonful had one member missing due to issue w leg perhaps why they didn't play all the hits they're known for. No empire, Group shared couple times they needed to get back to Chicago. It was a small crowd, perhaps due to weather...however we've been to BCMC several times & this crowd was sooo into Lovin Spoonful as far as cheering & clapping. It was a let down, glad we purchased tickets early & didn't spend so much. BCMC is a great venue...guess lots of issues for Lovin Spoonful night.

  • Wasted money

by Disappointed on 12/3/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

This should have been labeled a tribute band because none of the band members were original. So few people were there that the band invited the people in the balcony to come sit on the main floor even though they paid half of what I paid to sit on the main floor. The one original band member apparently had a bad leg. I researched. He hasn’t performed forever and only shows up in the audience.

  • Small crowd/Big Sound

by Talula on 12/3/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Snowy slick evening to be driving but we were determined to see the show. The band was playing for us as if they were playing for thousands! Loved all the conversations between the band members and their connections with other music groups & stars. A great evening! TY

by JackieRandy on 12/3/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was our first time ever seeing The Lovin Spoonful and we were so glad we went. They are truly amazing performers and interact with the audience. This makes a show as far as we're concerned. Definitely worth seeing again..

  • Back to my youth

by Madonna on 12/3/24Brown County Music Center - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Livin'Spoonful concert was fabulous. They played many of their hits and shared anecdotes from years past. The venue was great -- small with great sound! So glad I was able to be there.

  • Bringing back the oldies

by Margaret on 5/27/24Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelRating: 5 out of 5

The Lovin’ Spoonful concert at Bethel Woods, NY was an exciting experience. With only one original band member left I was a little concerned about what the sound would be. I was pleasantly surprised from the opening song. They were great and I enjoyed every moment of the show. The choice of songs was perfect. I definitely would recommend seeing them.

  • Time Passed Them By

Though the band sounded ok I didn't realize John Sebastian was no longer performing and that was a disappointment

  • Do you believe in magic?

by classicsoncall on 5/20/24Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelRating: 4 out of 5

It was a treat to catch the Lovin' Spoonful at the Bethel Woods Event Gallery on May 16th. Their songs immediately bring you back to the Sixties with their wonderful repertoire of hits. With only one founding member still part of the band, the group paid homage as well to the bands of current members who have performed with Neil Diamond, Badfinger and the Beach Boys. A highlight of the night was a shout out to John Sebastian who was in attendance, though it seemed odd that he wasn't brought up onto the stage or asked to participate. Even so, it was a pleasure to see this fan favorite in the only appearance they've ever made near me that I can recall.

  • basicly a tribute band

by larry on 5/19/24Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelRating: 1 out of 5

sound was good, seating was tight. I didn't like this show; might be my own fault for not studying the add a little closer. I'd seen John Sebastian on public TV and wrongly assumed he was still performing. The guy standing in for him was OK but in my opinion, a band is defined by it's lead singer for the most part: This show should have been advertised as "the music of The Lovin Spoonful with some original members". On a lesser note; if you're going to charge +or- 10 dollars for a piece of cake - it shouldn't taste like it was a week old.

  • Gary Lewis rocked.

by Tuddball on 2/19/18FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca RatonRating: 4 out of 5

Interesting night. Gary Lewis and band along with the Vogues were the highlights for me. Spoonful not the same without John Sebastian. Bob Miranda can still sing. Terry Sylvester of the Hollies, not so much. The host of the program whose name escapes me was the glue for the whole show.

  • 60's concert

by fun60sguy on 2/19/18FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca RatonRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was good. While many of the groups aren't the same as they were when their hits were recorded, they were good. The Vogues were excellent.

  • Not so great 60s

by Gammie13 on 2/19/18FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca RatonRating: 1 out of 5

Such a disappointment. Voices were bad and very limited selection of 60s music. Performers were resting on their past and perfmances were poor.

  • Great memories

by Couple65 on 2/19/18FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca RatonRating: 4 out of 5

We heard the music as kids and teens, now we return as grandparents within an orderly polite crowd. Quite the change! The evening was very pleasant and fun. I particularly liked the words and attitude of producer Joe Mirrione. Never met him before. The musical acts were fair to great. The Vogues have not lost a bit. Wow! Even though the other groups were “partial” the music was nostalgic and the personal stories of the era were poignant. I don’t care that some singers can’t hit the highest notes; I can’t run as fast as I used to either. By and large we all left happy reliving memories tweaked by hearing some of our favorite songs by some of our favorite artists. Also credit given to the younger support musicians who duplicated exactly the sound we remembered.

  • Can’t get enough of The Vogues!

by Sandsam on 2/19/18FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca RatonRating: 4 out of 5

Show was very good, but The Vogues were on for only about 20 minutes, if that long. This was the 2nd time we saw the show and were hoping they would be on longer. Instead.....a great deal of time went to Gary Lewis & The Loving Spoonful. They were on much too long.

  • A long evening

by linroneagleslover on 2/19/18FAU - Carole & Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium - Boca RatonRating: 1 out of 5

We had great seats, but that was about all that was great. The show, as a whole was pretty bad. There was only one of the Hollies and one of the Happenings and no harmony, which is what I loved about them in the Sixties. Gary Lewis can’t sing and he was on much too long, but his band was great. The highlight was The Vogues, who were wonderful, but they were on for too short a time. The Lovin’ Spoonful was just okay.
