Rating: 5 out of 5by KonaK on 3/7/12Waikoloa Bowl at Queens' Gardens - Waikoloa Rating: 4 out of 5 A Lovely Venue
by Maui4mary on 3/5/12Waikoloa Bowl at Queens' Gardens - WaikoloaThe evening at the Waikoloa Bowl was enjoyable. The Lim Family was the highlight with the hula group. We obtained LOW beach chairs as the ad said no high ones. When we arrived, we found many people there...front row...with high chairs!!! THAT didn't start off the night well as we had to strain to see around them. If high beach chairs are advertised as not being allowed...then they should not BE allowed!! Difficult to see the performers' faces being so far away on the lawn.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Kunia, Kevin, Lims and Raiatea
by HawnAno on 3/5/12Waikoloa Bowl at Queens' Gardens - WaikoloaOMG...the whole show was Fabulous!!!! The opening act of Kunia Galdeira and Kevin Kealoha was amazing.........they really need to put out an album. I know they also play as a trio with Sonny Lim, but the harmonies with just the two of them is mesmerizing too. The Lims are a classic Hawaiian Family, so comfortable on stage like they are on a back porch. The variations of songs, vocal ranges, instruments and arrangements of songs is wonderful...yes, that is why they are always getting awards. Raiatea has such a beautiful voice which is so effortless for her. I love it that she's bringing back the old style of singing along with the instruments. I'm not that old but I grew up with Lena Machado and Leina'ala Heine songs, it brought me back to slower and simpler times. I know Raiatea made Lena and Leina'ala proud by singing their songs.
