Hailed by MTV as "a live show you've got to check out for yourself", the band's flawless, energetic performances complement their rustic sound perfectly. Whether the band is jamming on the carefree track "Pioneers" or getting fans to sing along to "Venice", the Lighthouse and the Whaler are a promising new act that always has fans in high spirits at their exciting shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ohio-based group the Lighthouse and the Whaler first broke onto the indie folk scene in 2009 with the rich guitars and lush harmonies of their dazzling self-titled debut LP. The album quickly attracted the attention of media outlits like Paste, NPR, and the Huffington Post, drawing the band out for extensive touring in support of the release. They followed up in 2012 with sophomore LP This Is an Adventure, which featured popular tracks like "Pioneers" and "Venice" and earned major praise from fans and critics alike. Since then the band has toured with the Temper Trap, Sufjan Stevens, and GIVERS and headlined several shows of their own, delighting fans with their uplifting folk rock along the way. The Lighthouse and The Whaler

by Nrutt on 5/16/18The Cambridge Room at House Of Blues - Dallas

I was surprised that this show was not a packed house! The opening act (Vita and the Woolf) was phenomenal. The lead singer had such a strong voice with a great range. This was my first time hearing them and I was able to enjoy every song without ever hearing them before. The Lighthouse and the Whaler sounded great! Both bands were so great and played for the intimate group just as if they were playing a sold out show. I appreciated the friendliness of the band members and willingness to engage after the show.

Very enjoyable show. The crowd was great for a Tuesday, which always helps. LATW rolled out some really great, new songs - be on the lookout for "Brothers" and "Old World".

    These boys have energy!

by Angeela on 2/8/12Mercury Lounge - New York

Love these guys! They are so much fun and have a ton of energy, plus if you stick around they are super down to earth and are happy to chat with fans. Each member plays a minimum of 3 instruments.. so the show is like musical chairs with them switching around for each song. fun :) The crowd at Mercury Lounge can be kind of mellow so if you see a show here bring energetic friends!

    Incredible opener!!

by ExQuiZit on 12/23/10House of Blues - Detroit

This band had a very unique and incredibly overwhelming sound, I can't wait until they get more time on stage!! They opened for temper trap in Detroit, Mi...by the time they walked off the stage I forgot I was actually there to see temper trap, I got so wrapped up in their music. The whole band had a passion and sync that is very rare...you get a chance check these guys out!!
