About
Eleven of Australia’s finest artists
20 incredible songs
One of the greatest concerts of all time!
This April, Tim Rogers, Paul Dempsey, Richard Clapton, Kevin Borich Olympia, Vika & Linda Bull and The RocKwiz Orkestra will revisit a significant rock and roll music event: The Last Waltz.
Originally held at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco as The Band’s farewell concert, The Last Waltz brought together rock and roll royalty to pay tribute to everyone’s favourite group, THE BAND. Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, Neil Young, Eric Clapton and others performed an incredible variety of well known and cult hits.
The set list featured The Band favourites and draws from the guest’s rich catalogues … Up on Cripple Creek, Forever Young, The Shape I’m In, Caravan, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, The Weight, Mannish Boy, Further On Up The Road, Helpless, Coyote, I Shall Be Released … to name but a few
The Band and their guests played until two thirty in the morning, closing proceedings with ‘Don’t Do It’. It was the last time they ever played together. The concert was filmed by Martin Scorsese and has been billed as ‘the greatest concert film of all time’, developing legendary status as a concert, an event and a movie.
Introduced by RocKwiz co host and writer, Brian Nankervis, this is your chance to hear the stories (and the myths) behind the concert and to witness the incredible music, performed live by a star studded Australian cast.
The Rockwiz Team first performed The Last Waltz Revisited at The State Theatre at The Melbourne Arts Centre in December 2015 and received multiple standing ovations and rave reviews from the sold out audience.
Don’t miss this unique concert experience!
“The Rockwiz Team’s presentation of The Last Waltz Revisited was pure joy. A superb recreation of a legendary concert, performed by some of our finest singers. Spontaneous, multiple standing ovations are rare these days, but you couldn't keep this audience seated. Loved it.”
Danny Katz, The Age,Melbourne.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 5/3/16Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans Rating: 4 out of 5by Skullduggeree on 5/2/16Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans Great show, although I expected more guests considering it was Jazz Fest with Neil Young, Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt all in town. Jamie Johnson, Warren Haynes, Michael McDonald were stellar! The horns were great, and the person who covered Muddy Tore it Up!!

by HippyDippyMan on 11/29/14Fillmore Auditorium (Denver) - DenverI very much enjoyed the concert; didn't realize so many people here in Denver were fans of the "The Last Waltz" album and the movie. However, did not enjoy the opening act; had trouble understanding the lyrics; sounded like the same music playing over and over, going on what seemed like forever. ONE DISAPPOINTMENT --- was very much looking forward to hearing the "Long Black Veil" which was not played. Long live The Band --- Garth, Richard, Levon, Rick and Robbie..

Rating: 5 out of 5 REINACTMENT OF THE LAST WALTZ
by lin150 on 9/29/14Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelWhen I bought tickets to this venue, i thought it was just a tribute to the Band's last waltz. That is why we got tickets. It was actually a benefit for Music in Common, Inc. Which is a non profit organization of members who use music to bring peace and harmony throughout the world. They showed us a video of some of the things they do to make the world a better place to live by educating young people on living in harmony. The show featured the Rev Tor Band and friends. They sang 23 somgs and followed the last waltz format. Many different singers came up on the stage. The show was excellent.

by sixtyplus6 on 9/29/14Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelThe performance of the Last Waltz was a totally enjoyable evening. At first I was a little disappointed that the Rev Tor band sounded nothing like the original Band. But after a little while, I just enjoyed the music for what it was. I really enjoyed the local artists that appeared.

by cwmcb on 9/29/14Bethel Woods Center for the Arts - BethelEnjoyed the music it was well done. It would have been better for the horn section to come out by themselves and play their open as a tune up. they were great afterwards. * For the 50 anniversity you should allow all the people with orginal tickets(1969) in for the celebration for free
