Stay home and save your money. It is very boring. The Augusta civic center is a horrible venue.
We are a conservative Christian homeschooling family so my perspective on the event is shaped extensively by all that goes with that world view. For some, the event would probably be enjoyable but we were very offended by it. The music that accompanied the acts was not only secular but contained sexual lyrics that my children came away repeating. The jokes had both implied sexual and overt sexual implications like a man running around in a ladies undergarment. The ring master stopped the show several times to guilt parents into buying cheap made in China light-up toys and literally taunted the kids into begging for their adults to buy them one. Those kids who did not get one were left out of the fun light show contest and were told to just wave their hands around instead of their cool new toy. The intermission was so short that we were unable to get through the long restroom line in time so we had to stumble back to our seats in the dark stadium with the show already in progress. We paid for reserved seats and we had people trying to steal our seats for free so we needed to prove they were ours to a circus staff member. Overall, we will stick to G rated entertainment in the future and not attend the Shrine Circus again. We will gladly donate money however to the wonderful charitable cause of the Shriners Hospital instead of patronizing this truly mediocre event.
I would only recommend going to the Kora Shrine Temple Circus if you have younger children. the trapeze act was lacking. Also, it would have been nice to see animals in the act other than a few dogs. Don't get me wrong; dogs are great, but they didn't do all that much. My son loves dogs and the dog act didn't hold his attention. To sum it all up; since the tickets were cheap and any family activity time is good time... as long as you aren't expecting anything to extravagant, it's worth the time.
It was VERY boring and amateur. We didn't even stay for the whole event. I'm glad the tickets were cheap. Definitely got what we paid for.
The circus was not worth the money this year. There were no animals and my 4 year old grandson was bored. Good thing the money goes to a good cause. I don't think we will go again.
I brought my two year old daughter. She enjoyed the show. I was disappointed in the amount of animals the show had to offer. The only animals in this show were a few dogs and one horse- back in the day, the circus was much better. We still had fun though :)
No elephants or any animals except for 1 horse. The clowns were not funny. Not a great circus.
