About

THE HARPOONIST & THE AXE MURDERER IN CONCERT:

Canadian bluesmen The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer have quickly made a name for themselves with their genre-devouring sound and electrifying performances. Their records are a great listen, but with these guys it's really all about the live show --taking the stage with an array of harmonicas, foot percussion, and a vintage Telecaster guitar, they whip up a frenzy of howling blues that bands twice their size would be hard-pressed to match. With their party-starting combination of virtuosic musicianship, inimitable on-stage chemistry, and dance-worthy tracks like "A Real Fine Noise", The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer treat fans to an all-out blues rock explosion that satisfies on every level.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer is comprised of singer/harmonica player Shawn Hall and percussionist/guitarist Matthew Rogers, two Vancouver-based musicians who first crossed paths at a jingle recording session in 2006. They quickly bonded over their shared love of blues and folk, and before long they formed a musical partnership. They released their self-titled debut album in 2008, thrilling listeners and critics alike with their eclectic sound. Their rise continued in 2011 with their sophomore album Checkered Past, another critical smash that drew them out for worldwide touring. The duo's frenetic live shows have made them a festival favorite, landing them on billings across the US and Canada including SXSW, Vancouver Jazz Festival, and Salmon Arm Roots & Blues. In 2014 The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer released their third album A Real Fine Mess, a red-hot collection of in-your-face blues that has ticket buyers eager to catch them on tour.
