This was my first Blues tour, and I enjoyed it. I was expecting to see Lenny Williams, but he did not show. I thought the promoters should have advertised Lenny's absence from the concert.
This year's Blues Festival was the absolute best that I have been to since performances began in Greensboro. I had excellent seats, each artist was amazing on stage, and Mel Waiters put the icing on it all when he came off the stage after his last song and began shaking hands with fans. Awesomely amazing!!! Loved Theodis, loved Clarence Carter, loved Roy C., loved, loved, loved Mel Waiters. The only thing missing was Marvin Sease, RIP. However, the host and performers recognized him throughout the show. After being introduced to Marvin Sease's son, I think that a big dose of reality hit us all. We realized that this could have easily happened to one of us. Although some people may have thought it was tacky, I appreciate the opportunity of giving a donation to the Sease family. It gave me a chance to show my love.
Great concert !! LOVED Latimore. Too bad that Marvin Sease passed away just days before the performance,,,,missed him and his style. Ain't nobody that can do Marvin but Marvin.
This is the 4th year that my husband, sister-in-law and I have been to this show. We will continue to go EVERY year we are fortunate enough for them to play here in Greensboro. DOWN HOME BLUES! RIP Marvin Sease
