THE FRONT BOTTOMS IN CONCERT:
Quirky pop rockers The Front Bottoms never fail to get audiences singing along to each upbeat melody and heartfelt sentiment in concert. With lyrics that alternate between sincere poetry and tongue-in-cheek humor, frontman Brian Sella always invokes serious feels among ticket buyers. As he strums away at his acoustic guitar, booming drums and melodic basslines add a muscular punch to fan favorites like “Twin Size Mattress”, “Laugh Till I Cry”, and “The Plan”. The group's kaleidoscopic approach also incorporates French horn, accordion, and synthesizers to make sure each song brings a unique sound to the stage. The resulting live experience is an endearing combination of geeky charm, sophisticated arrangements, and first-rate hooks, helping The Front Bottoms win over new fans any time they play on tour, which is maybe why they've brought multiple venues to capacity, like Aztec Theatre.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Lead singer and guitarist Brian Sella started The Front Bottoms in 2007 with his childhood friend, drummer Mathew Uychich. They quickly expanded to a full a lineup with Uychich’s brother Brian joining on keyboards for their 2008 debut I Hate My Friends. They established a dedicated following in their native Woodcliffe, NJ before expanding their fanbase with a DIY national tour. In 2010 the group generated serious online buzz with the release of a self-titled album and a viral music video for the song “Maps”, which expanded their following even further and led to bigger shows. Their growing legion of fans showed their support by helping the group crack the Billboard 200 with their next album, 2013’s Talon of the Hawk. The Front Bottoms continue to thrill fans of indie rock with exuberant performances and fun-loving albums like 2015’s stellar Back on Top.
i love the front bottoms brian and matt eat every time!!
TFB is one of my all time favorite bands and it was the best show I have ever been to. I had so much fun and I really loved the venue.
Great Sound, loud and clear, no distortion Great Band, I went as a driver for the kids, enjoyed it a lot! Great Environment, organized and respectful
The Front Bottoms were great! However, the seat I purchased was in a section they decided to close so I was given a worse seat in a different section under the guise of an “upgrade”. That was very disappointing. The only option that was given to fix it was to move to an unoccupied seat once the show started. How was that a good alternative?
Third time I’ve taken my daughter to see the band. Enjoyed each concert.
When The Front Bottoms perform, they leave no doubt how much they love and enjoy what they do. They come at you with an undeniable will to ensure everyone in the room has just as much fun. The fan dedication is strikingly apparent with hundreds of voices echoing endless lines of prose back to he who shuns footwear. One cannot drop toast without it landing butter side down…nor can one attend a TFB show and escape the infectious vibe. Do you like fun? Go see The Front Bottoms.
Second time seeing the Front Bottoms at this location and both times were incredible! The band cares a lot about putting on a good and engaging show, I love that both times they would take requests and go along with songs the audience wants too. They're just generally very engaging and have an incredible stage presence, and both years the actual fans in the crowd have been one of the best communities of fans/concert goers I've been around, as someone who's been to around 40 concerts at this point. Hoping to see them in Bham again next year!!
THEY WERE AMAZING AND THE VOCALS AERE HNMATCHABLE IC UR THINKING ABT IT, GO!!!!!
great visuals, band members seemed really into the show, the crowd was hype. my only issue was that a lot of the songs were played a lot faster than they should've been and the lead singer had trouble keeping up
this was my 3rd time seeing them live and they are incredible every single time !!! they put on such a good show and i get emotional every time. something about here their songs love just bring everything out 😭. i love the front bottoms with everything in me and the opener, vundabar, was also so fucking good !! will def see them on a headlining tour someday ! 11/10 would recommend seeing the front bottoms at least once !!
Paid for general admission standing ticket, somewhere between $30-50 that’s about all it was worth. The performance was alright, liked watching the keyboardist the most he vibes and does his own thing through the show. There wasn’t much on stage presence though, mainly just treated it like ‘live band practice’; didn’t address the audience, didn’t have anything really happening on stage save for punching a beat up dummy and having it crowd surf for a minute. Been a big fan of their music for what feels like almost a decade, but was entirely underwhelmed by their performance altogether.’ Ultimately: If the price is cheap pay to see them once if you’re a fan, but don’t bother seeing them again after, save it for your next favorite performer coming through town.
First time seeing The Front Bottoms, and they were more amazing than I had imagined. Their sound and energy was just so 🤌🏽✨ pure magic. It was also my first time in the Egyptian Room and this venue is gorgeous! Definitely will be revisiting both 🤘🏽
The band the crowd and the venue were spot on. It was by far the chillest crowd I’ve ever been a part of
It was so fun! Loud and fun. There were a ton of people there and I was amazed at the energy.
It’s an amazing venue that’s a lot of fun but 2 drinks, 1 being a water being 40 dollars is insane
I’ve loved the front bottoms for years now and this was the first time I got to see them in person and it was such an amazing and beautiful experience.
Been loving this band since highschool and they played all the hits, the merch was amazing and I cried a bunch. Best concert I’ve ever ever been to
I’ve been wanting to see the front bottoms for a while, and this was AWESOME!! Having Vundabar as their opener was great, the crowd was so lively (even though people were crowd-surfing). This was probably one of my favourite concerts that I’ve been to, I would love to see them live again.
I’ve seen The Front Bottoms twice, once in Austin at Emos and again in Colorado at Red Rocks. They never fail to impress me from the lights to the overall experience of the show. The band themselves are so fun and great performers! Hope to see them again soon!
Always fun seeing the front bottoms. New album you are who you hang out with tour and the they played hella old songs too. Fun Night
