This was an awesome show just like the movie on tv. Just missed the song stay which won a Grammy . But also being that it was November they could have sang silent night. Great show
I Have been studying, collecting and listening to Motown for 48 Years. I am considered to be an expert of sorts. Recently I went to Detroit to see Hitsville USA / Motown Museum, Berry Gordy Jr's old Home (and auction) and several cemetaries. Seeing the Four tops and the Temptations was a final piece to my own personal puzzle. I know that there are only 1 original band member in each group. The Four Tops opened and were very good,,,,but, The Temptations took the show and were excellent, their stage dancing, costumes and set list were unforgettable, It brought back many memories. Our seats were first row dead center 6 feet from the stage. All in All a unforgetable experience. Thank You..
The sound/acoustics at the concert at the paramount theater were very poor - very difficult to understand lyrics and words. Way too much reverb and drums.
My girlfriend and I both are a fan of motown. Even though there's only one original in the 4Tops and I don't think there's any originls left in The Temptations , it was still great to hear those great songs again. And see that those great moves. A great evening.
Enjoyed show very very much got up and dance had moves that I forgot I had. great time
Temptations delivered a great show. Thoroughly enjoyable. The Four Tops not so much. They were disorganized and were overpowered by the musicians. Sound mixing was terrible. Also, the Four Tops seemed a bit disorganized and a little too free form. Arrive late and just in time for the Temptations, spare yourself the agony.
Though the vocalists were singing their hearts out, they were drowned out by the blasting, overbearing sound of the instruments. Unnecessary and shameful disrespect for the artists and the audience. Should never happen, but especially not in the magnificent Paramount theater. Sound checks and technicians who know what they’re doing could have made the night heavenly. Instead it was just frustrating.
A very feel good evening. The Paramont is gorgeous but the acoustics are miserable.
I know both do repetitious shows but we was impressed, 4 tops had as much fun as we did, on our feet a lot for both shows. Mainly wanted to see Larry Braggs,13 years former Tower Of Power lead. He was great with the Temptations, but they would have been good regardless. 4 tops were over the Top
It just doesn't get any better than the concert venue at Humphrey's by the Bay...Temptations and the Four Tops on the same bill~......A truly great time.
Both of these groups were very good. I enjoyed both equally. I have to tell you though, I loved the Temptations all my life. I have been singing their songs for years going back as far as 1967. My music skills was a direct result of listening to the background vocals (not the lead) and sang my first song, I Need Your Lovin' years ago. I think the Four Tops surprised me with their smooth background and well balance band. They obviously had a great stage manager that knew how to balance the voices and the band. There were only 4 of the Temptations but Terry Weeks did a good job covering for Ron Tyson. That was really special. Larry Braggs, the new Temptation lead singer, does an excellent job on all the leads. I thought the Four Tops dedication to their falling brothers was a nice tribute. I was pleasantly surprised at how well both groups still managed to pull off the seemingly impossible, 50+ yrs and still going...

The Temptations were the opening act but they should have been the headliner over the Four Tops. I was curious who of the original members of each group were still in the act. Turns out there is one original member in each of the groups. That didn't bother me at all because the other singers were awesome. And in some cases they were relatives of the original members, one is the son! The Temptations got us up on our feet and you couldn't stop singing and dancing, really kept the movement surging. The Four Tops had their moments but they didn't capitalize and lost the momentum. In fact quite there were a lot of people who left before the Four Tops got to their last (and biggest hit) of Sugar Pie Honey Bunch. The original member of the Four Tops talked too much. Initially I like the story, but then he did it too much. Also the Four Tops sang cover songs of other groups, why???? The original member should not have sang the "Did it My Way" song (old Sinatra classic) as he does not have the voice to be a soloist (he acknowledge that but he shouldn't have done it). However in all it was a great concert. I would have been happy if it was just the Temptations!
Music, energy and dancing was amazing...what is not too like!!
The Temptations were FABulous...should have been the THE only act. They rocked the house, were totally entertaining and gave it their ALL! On the otherhand ,sadly the TOPS were NOT the TOPS. The young ones lacked the original Tops spirit, spin, and heart. Didn't even sound close to the originals. The young "main" TOP was way too full of "himself", ...anyway, we left after about 3 songs...will just keep our memories of the GREAT ORIGINAL FOUR TOPS, and will not recommend or go to another "Four Tops" performance again ...so sad. Only reason for 4 stars was the Temptations.
Both groups were great, as usual. The singing was powerful and clear. This is a different type of concert where virtually every song you hear is a hit and is memorable. Both groups have done a great job of replacing the voices as most of the original members are no longer with us. I wish that Humphreys would have them perform every summer! it would be great if they added the '70s Soul Jam too!
Both groups were great! Surprised by their energy and good voices. Not many of the original groups members there, but still very good.
Both groups fell incredibly short of my expectations. The Four Tops were horrible. No resemblance whatsoever to the original group.
The Temptations came on and lit up the audience with their energy and songs we were all so excited and then the 4 tops came on. They did not give the audience what they were wanting - instead their original 4 top sat down and talked way too much and they sang new stuff or cover versions which was not fabulous. They were very disappointing. Every now and then they would break into an oldie that got the audience on their feet but they seemed to only sing a couple of bars and then they were done. VERY VERY disappointing.
