I’ve listened to The Fixx when they were popular in the mid to early 80s and this is my first time seeing them live. These guys have been together for 42 years now and let me tell you they put on an awesome show live! I will certainly see them again!
The warm up was weak but the Fixx, amazing! Had the entire crowd up, standing and singing along.
This was the first time I’d been to the Lexington Opera House and it’s a lovely small venue. We had orchestra level seats towards the rear but we were still close enough. The stage IMO. As for The Fixx, they gave an awesome performance that included all of their hits. I’d never seen them before and I’m so glad that I got the opportunity to go.
Our 2nd time seeing the band....and it was better than the 1st time. This time the band was loose and in great form. Truly remarkable how they sound EXACTLY like they did in the 80s...only better. Can't wait to see them again.
My wife and I both enjoyed this concert way more than we thought we would. Great entertainers that play with passion. Even enjoyed the new music but oldies were fun with fan participation.
Fantastic show - great blend of new songs & classics. Amazing musicianship & charismatic lead singer!
Just the right mix of new music, not too much, but not ignored. Some of it is quite good. And a good heavy does of their older music. Paraphrasing the band's lead singer.....it was nice indeed to leave the outside world and politics* for an evening of good music. (*though not so with the warm up Jill Sobule)
Awesome show! Unlike some bands who sound way different than they used to, The Fixx sounds just like they did back in the day. The lead singer is very energetic! Lol. Highly recommended.
The Fixx sounded great and projected lots of cool flowing energy during their set in Lexington. Hard to imagine they have ever sounded any better.
These guys are great live. If you ever have a chance, go see the Fixx. Excellent concert.
This was the best concert that I have been to in a very long time! Would love to see them again!
Great sound, great energy, great mix of new and old music!
The show was phenomenal. Tiny House of Blues and they had it like a stadium for Red Skies. Timeless talent and very underappreciated.
Who knew a few weeks ago, after a random search for The Fixx, that I'd discover that not only did they have a new album out, but that they were going to be in town. The last time I'd seen them was on the Ink. tour. They put on a compelling show, with a set that included a balanced mix of new and old. Jamie is a master of understated guitar playing that nonetheless makes a forceful statement. Cy's voice is still strong; Rupert, Dan, and Adam round out a top-notch live band that, even after 40-ish years, is firing on all cylinders.
The Fixx sounded great playing new songs and hits from the 80’s. Musically they haven’t lost a note and sounded great on the House of Blues stage. The venue is well maintained and managed. Drinks weren’t cheap but also not as overpriced as some other places.
They sounded amazing & took me back in time! We had a great time!
The Fixx gave us an amazing evening, all 5 members still got it after all these years, saw them at astroworld in 1983 and now 3 days ago and they still rock!
I just couldn’t get into his new music. Didn’t know much of the music at all and the style was not my preference
Antone’s in Austin hosted Royston Langdon opening for the Fixx. He was a one man guitar playing crooner with excellent vocal range and cadence. I enjoyed his melodic, soulful sing and playing, as did the sold out audience. He set the mood for on of my favorite bands, the Fixx. They did not disappoint-playing their signature hits with gusto and adding sone new tunes the audience responded favorably to. A great song-a-long evening that brought back a flood of joyful memories from years ago.
