Tight band, very very very tight band.

Rock 'n' roll mainstays The Figgs formed in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1987. 35 years and 14 albums later they're still going strong. 2019 saw the release of Shady Grove, a 3-LP set.
Whenever Pete Donnelly (bass, vocals), Mike Gent (guitar, vocals), & Pete Hayes (drums, vocals) hit the stage, not only do they have three decades of their own songs to choose from, they also have been known to throw in a few covers at each show, never performing the same set twice. They've served as Graham Parker's band for multiple tours & records, toured as the backing band for Tommy Stinson (The Replacements) , as well as having recorded and performed with a who's who of the rock hall of fools!
"The Figgs were always good, but now they're gooder. When the Figgs back me up, I don't know where my front is."
- Graham Parker

The Figgs are the best live band I've seeen. The MC show was great.
The Figgs are one of the best live bands in the world that most people have never heard of. Still a lethal trio some 25 years after it all started, the Figgs blend sugar pop tones akin to Elvis Costello & the Kinks with their own unique brand of power riffs and smiles. They make it look easy as they shift from being the tightest band around to showcasing a playful looseness. They've mastered the art of reeling things in before careening totally off the rails. This was yet another fine set for an enthusiastic crowd at the Mercury Lounge, whom was treated to a handful of brand new Figgs tunes & a couple Kate Bush covers. Long live rock n roll and the mighty Figgs.
