    Feelies still got it!

by Aphid on 6/12/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Having seen the Feelies many time in the 80's it was great to see them together again! Their sound was as infectious as ever and even loved the couple of covers they did.

Four encores from the Feelies??? Unbelievable

by gnustome on 4/16/10Middle East - Cambridge

Truly an inspired show. These guys haven't lost much since I last saw them in the '80s. From the first licks of "When Company Comes" to the raucous closing cover of "Paint It Black", I was so happy to see such energy from these guys.

    The Feelies still crank

by ChanceBalkmeyer on 3/29/10Middle East - Cambridge

A very good show from a very good band. Too bad they don't play more often. The first set was mostly quieter new songs, the second a lot of older material played to perfection. I lost track of how many encores they played -- 5 or 6 at least. These guys have only gotten better with age.

    6 Encores!!!

    by JimT23 on 3/20/10Middle East - Cambridge

I saw the Feelies open up for Sonic Youth in November at the Wilbur Theater. I had always wanted to see the Feelies live as I feel that they are one of the more underappreciated bands around. They did not disappoint! The Middle East is a great place to get close to the stage. The band did not go on until a little before 10 played until 10:45, took a break, came back on 11:20, and then played until 1 AM!!! Theband came back for 6 encores as the crowd did not want them to stop playing. In addition to playing most of Crazy Rhythms and The Good Earth, and about half of Only Life and Time For a Witness, they did several outstanding covers. VU - Sunday Morning, Doors - Take It As It Comes, Beatles - She Said She Said, Rolling Stones - Paint It Black, REM - Box Cars (Carnival of Sorts). I had met Glenn before the show at a record tore around the corner from the venue. I later chatted with Brenda and Dave, they all were really nice. An incredible show from start to finish!

    Great band, bad format

by sosoang on 3/20/10Middle East - Cambridge

Loved the band, but hated how the performance was broken up into two sets, with I guess what you would call a 45 minute intermission. First set started at 10pm, second was to start at 11:30. For many of us who have babysitters waiting back at home, we had to leave after 1st set, missing half the songs to be played (in 2nd set, plus encores). The band could have easily extended the first set for another 1/2 hour and it would've been a solid song-packed show. Oh, and let's face it, Feelies are a great '80s band so very likely a few in audience had offspring at home. Rip off. Realize the bar wants to make more $$ by "forcing" drink time for 45 mins between sets, but c'mon, next time I'll ask if this will be the format and if so I'll just not buy tix and not go.
