  • Blast from the Past

by Oldie on 2/25/25Pechanga Resort Casino - TemeculaRating: 5 out of 5

This was a GOOD show!! The singers, the stage, the lights were outstanding!! Some other concerts I attended in Vegas had too many blaring lights moving around performers, which is distracting and gave me a headache. I will continue to attend Pechanga with good performers from the past, which is a plus!!

Wonderful! Extraordinary! The singers and musicians .... perfection! Their music is timeless! And I enjoyed Platters new music, too! Thank you, Drifters, Coasters, and Platters, for an uplifting, cheerful, memorable, & oh so fun evening! I would see your show many times again! (the way your voices blend, the harmonies .... beautiful!).

What a great trip down memory lane with all the other old timers!

  • very enjoyable

by Kathy on 1/20/25Pensacola Saenger Theatre - PensacolaRating: 4 out of 5

The groups were good, similar enough in sound to the original groups that they were easy to listen to. A couple of the lead singers had amazing, amazingly strong voices. The lighting on stage wasn't good though. There were a lot of times when a singer stepped away from the group [usually closer to the audience] as he was singing, an he walked into bad shadows. I had hoped for it to be fixed after intermission, but it was the same.

It was the best concert I've ever been to. The bands played our favorite songs. The audience was cheering, clapping, and dancing. It was so much fun! Thank you, Saenger, for having them here in Pensacola!!

This was a very enjoyable show even though they weren’t the original groups. The Platters were phenomenal and the Coasters and the Drifters were very entertaining.

The 3 groups complement each other; each singer talented in their own right. Great repertoire of songs. Enjoyed their choreography and interaction with the audience. What a delightful evening of entertainment.

Growing up in the 50s and 60s, it was a memorable and fun evening to hear these groups sing some of my favorite songs. Though not the originals, they gave a great performance. Enjoyed every minute

  • Music at Hoyt Sherman

by Anita on 6/28/22Hoyt Sherman Place - Des MoinesRating: 4 out of 5

My party was early so we were seated in our reserved seats about 45 minutess before show time. The show started 15 minutes late. (7:45) The singers were fabulous, music was great, however it was wayyyy toooo loud. Also didn't appreciate when the perfomers went down into the front rows of the auditorium because those of us in the balcony couldn't see what was going on.

  • Enjoyable

by HugeCCRFan on 12/2/12Palace Theater - GreensburgRating: 3 out of 5

An enjoyable evening of Doo Wop music performed by tribute groups. First up were Cornell Gunter's Coasters. They did a good job of replicating the original Coasters sound including hits "Poison Ivy", "Yakety Yak", Young Blood", "Love Potion Number Nine" and a takeoff on "Charlie Brown" plus others. Next up was the Marvelettes cover group performing, among others, "Hey Mr. Postman", "Playboy", "Too Many Fish in the Sea" and "Don't Mess with Bill". While not as strong as the Coasters tribute band their performance was enjoyable. The final group on stage was Marshak's Tribute to The Platters and their performance was the strongest of the evening. They performed, among other songs, "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", "The Great Pretender", "My Prayer", Twilight Time" and a very solid performance of "Unchained Melody". The lead singer was superb. While, due to the age of the groups, there were no original members participating the groups did a good job of keeping the music of that era alive especially The Platters tribute.
