Always a good time being at the Doo Wop Project! The guys are all great individually and are fabulous as a group!
The Doo Wop Project group are excellent! Loved the show and the harmonizing was beautifully done. They are so talented and committed to keeping doo wop alive. I didn’t think The Impossinle Dream or Do the Twist fit into the show. I would definitely see them again.
I expected The Doo Wop Project to perform lots of Doo Wop songs. In reality, on the night I attended, only about half of what I heard was doo wop, including 'The Angels Listened In' that they raced through at such a fast tempo as to be almost unrecognizable from the original. The rest of what I heard was Motown and what the performers referred to as "doowopified" songs from more recent years. The group spent a considerable amount of time talking about their stage experience and promoting themselves, when all I really wanted was to hear them sing doo wop. To their credit, The Doo Wop Project's renditions of 'That's My Desire', 'Sherry' and 'Walk Like a Man' were very nice.
Seating was great , I could see everything, even got up n danced, great show , keep it up
We expected to be entertained but not to the level this went to. Imagine 5 great singers, in lead or alternate roles on Broadway's most famous musicals, put them in one show singing your favorite songs few voices can handle...and you have The Doo Wop Project.
By far the show exceeded my expectations. We had such a good time singing along with every song that was played. We kind of expected to be entertained but the show was a lot more than we thought it would be.
The 5 Broadway singers comprising this group performed an exciting and highly entertaining performance. I had not heard of this group and only went because of the description of the show at The Parker Playhouse. Being a fan of Broadway shows, I wanted to be entertained on a Saturday evening and they did not disappoint. I had never seen the PBS special they had me too es during the performance so I was very pleased with the show. I have seen The Jersey Boys 3 times as well as Motown of which most of these singers starred. The orchestration was great and the talent of this show cannot be missed. I just wish it had been a bit longer in length. If it returns to Ft Lauderdale, I will definitely see it again. Highly recommend. Do not miss this show, no matter what age you are. Their voices and harmonizing are amazing.
performances were great, venue is excellent, it was a very fun evening - highly recommend them
Easy parking in and out. New facility is lovely, did a great job. The Haller Club was a bit disappointing for $40, same snacks at intermission and not very fancy, we expected more, won’t do that again. We always enjoy the Parker and will return again.
This group is high energy, a huge wall of sound, fun and such professionalism. The time flew by too fast. Their joy of music is infectious.
Show was amazing Great music Great fun For the venue: people arriving late are disturbing and getting in front of us who arrived promptly. Do not let them go to their seats until there is a break in the show …
As a critique (keeping in mind that we absolutely loved the concert), I, as well as others who I spoke with during the intermission, felt the music was too loud and tended to drown out the singers for many of the songs. Also, I would have liked to hear more of the typical "doo wop" songs - although the group's doo'wop version of some of the more current songs was fantastic!
This was one of the best performances my husband and I attended this year. The program diverse with both old-time songs and modern songs mixed with holiday music adding a diverse music performance. I cannot wait until they return to this area.
We were so looking forward to the Doo Wop Project and bought tickets much in advance. However, the sound was so distorted and much too loud that my husband was in agony holding his ears, and I had to also protect my ears. The background band nearly drowned out the vocals, to my dismay. When one cannot hear the quality of the voices over the band, it diminishes the quality of the performance. Overly loud seems to be the fashion these days but some of would very much like to keep our hearing as we age. We had to leave at half time as neither one of us wanted to suffer through the next hour. So sorry if others felt the same.
The before the intermission you couldn't hear the singers. The band over powered the singers. After the intermission, the concert was enjoyable.
A little too much talking about personal lives and not enough music from bygone days. Otherwise entertaining! 😁
These guys are so very talented! Great music, cool dancing, fun stories, nice costumes, good band. Recommend them to anyone who likes any kind of music.
great group I'd see them again when they come to town.
We really enjoyed being entertained by the Doo Wop Project. So much talent on the stage. We would definitely go see them again!!!!
The show was so much fun, just fantastic. What great voices. I hope they come back soon.
