About

‘60s psych-pop family band the Cowsills inspire more than just revelry with their air-tight harmonies – the group was also the inspiration for the legendary Partridge Family TV show, which was loosely based on the prodigious talent of the group’s young siblings. While some of the band’s founding members have passed away in the course of their half-century together, the Cowsills have kept it a family affair, filling musical roles with their children, spouses, and other kin. On their 2013 tour dates, the band delivered delightfully nostalgic performances of hits like “The Rain, The Park & Other Things” and “Hair” amid friendly banter and familial ribbing between members, setting hopes high for another round of feel-good shows in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Cowsills were formed in 1965 by brothers Bill, Bob, Barry, and John, expanding to six siblings ranging from 8 to 19 years old by the time of their 1967 US No. 2 hit “The Rain, The Park & Other Things.” An overnight sensation as much for their precocity as for the novelty of the band’s configuration, the Cowsills rode a wave of popular success that eventually inspired the Partridge Family TV show. As one of the most popular and dedicated acts on the road in the late ‘60s, the band established a legacy that has served them well over the years, allowing them to weather breakups, make-ups, and more than a half-century of shifting family lineups. During that time, they’ve lost none of the wide-eyed, harmony-filled wonder that made them famous, continuing to thrill audiences on tour in 2014.

  • Blown away by the Cowsills

by Judy on 9/13/23The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I remember the Cowsills from their hits in the 60s, but never saw them in concert. I finally got to see them, and they were everything and so much more! Their voices have only gotten stronger, and they are singing in the original keys! They played all the hits, and also played songs from their new album, Rhythm of the World. It was a wonderful evening of music and laughter, at the beautiful showroom at the Golden Nugget. I highly recommend seeing them!

Loved the show from start to finish. Their voices are all spot on and their song selections are from the 60's era. Lots of fun stage banter between the siblings. Will go again when they return.

  • Cowsills show in Las Vegas 1/27/2023

by Orthosteve on 1/30/23The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

I always likes the Cowsills from the late 60's so it was a real pleasure to see them perform in a small venue at the Golden Nugget. The music was wonderful. In addition to their four hits they did some great 60's covers and had amazing harmonies. I never realized what a nice voice Susan had until she did From Sir with Love. I liked the continuous and seemingly unrehearsed and unfiltered banter between the siblings except at times when it interrupted their songs. Overall I highly recommend seeing them.

They were great..loved all the songs and liked how they have kept a lot of family in the band. This is the 2nd year we’ve seen them at Golden Nugget fun venue This made a great evening with the seating and dinner at the hotel

  • Families that sing together, stay together!

by zantac on 2/4/22The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

OK, so they were a pop band in the seventies, who wasn't? But this family of musicians are still producing music that will knock your socks off! They have drawn from the next generation, and you can see the amazement in the eyes of the younger players as the originals come out of their mature roles and rock the hall. It is enjoyable on so many fronts. See them, it is a great experience.

  • Outstanding, as always

  • A FUN Filled night of Music

by Darlin Debra on 1/28/20The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The Golden Nugget show room is the right size, there are no bad seats. Our group of 25 had so much FUN watching the Cowsills perform. They are a favorite with us from The Flower Power Cruise. It has been awhile since I saw a concert there and I will be back for more soon. Great venue, reasonable prices.

  • So talented!!!

Special treat was a surprise visit by John Cowsill who normally is tied up as the drummer for The Beach Boys for the past 20 years. The Cowsills are even better now than they were in the 60s. Fun show, beautiful harmonies and some new music, too. The Cowsills performed other artist’s song BETTER than the original artists. Beautiful family. I love them. The venue was great also. Surprise meet and greet made my night! I traveled all the way from Texas to see them in Vegas. This is a show you won’t want to miss!!

First time at Golden Nugget venue. Enjoyed the Cowsills VERY much!! Only issue was the mics were set WAY too high in volume and the music/vocals came off too loud!!! Enjoyed the Cowsills energy though! Fun time

  • Best Time Machine Ever!

by T. T. on 1/27/20The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The Cowsills are fabulous! Their voices are still as melodious and harmonious as ever, and their songs transport me back in time, make me feel soooo good, and keep me smiling for days after. They are magic! I will see them every time they tour here in Vegas. And I’m really looking forward to the new album to be released later this year.

  • Totally entertaining

by Fun, fun, fun concert! on 1/27/20The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The Cowsills have perfect harmony. When Susan sang,”To Sir With Love” I thought I was hearing the voice of an angel. The group has so much energy, plays off each other and makes the audience totally engaged and crazy about them. If you love music off the 60’s, you can’t help but love them. The icing on the cake was when their remaining surviving brother, John, joined then onstage for “Hair.” All 4 Cowsills siblings are incredibly talented and great showmen. I loved this concert and would travel anywhere to be able to see then over and over.

Enjoyed all the groups, I would have to say my favorite was Jay and the Americans. Although there is a new Jay, the others are originals and they all sounded GREAT. Fun seeing the Cowsills and the Brooklyn Bridge as well.

These groups brought me back to when I was a kid in the 60s. Each act was truly outstanding! It was one of the most enjoyable evenings my wife and I have spent in a long time.
