    Love ELF

by Kathy R on 11/27/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

It is SO much fun watching the movie with the orchestra. It adds such an element of excitement to the air. I've seen that move SO much and I'm sure others in the audience have too but we still laughed....A Lot! Definitely recommend it!

    Kids loved it

by Margie on 11/27/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Preteens really enjoyed Elf movie with music by the Charlotte symphony. I witnessed some guests upset by the small bag rule. Two people that I saw were made to take their not very large purses back to their cars. Inside, we saw quite a few with large bags. These guests should have been advised to go through the security line. This was a bit uncomfortable at the entrance. Also, since thus was a concert geared to families with children, it would have been nice if the conductor took a little time at beginning of second part (after intermission) to show off the different sections of the orchestra, and have each section play a line or two of music independently. Our preteen, who has started flute, was disappointed to not be able to see any flutes...they were not even visible when the sections were introduced at the end.

I honestly liked the empire strikes back better (this was my first orchestra movie experience). This one was still pretty awesome. Soooooo looking forward to Jedi :-D

Fantastic Night with the Charlotte Symphony

by BillR on 6/29/22Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Our conductor was amazing. He is taking the orchestra to a place everyone will enjoy. He is enthusiastic, so knowledgeable and speaks to all no matter how much you know about music. He brings it to everyone's level and the orchestra is very good. Will certainly go to more of their events.

A brand new 30 year old movie

by Mtngato on 6/28/22Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

I’ve seen Jurassic Park several times since 1993 and had frankly tired of the non-stop, rather contrived tensions and terrors that make up most of the movie. But with a live, talented Charlotte Symphony delivering the music, the experience was totally different: exciting, engaging, and beautiful. Being able to watch the music being made brought new appreciation for Williams’ magnificent score, which really carries the film. A great night of entertainment!

    Great Night Out

by JW on 6/28/22Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

This was my 3rd time at a Jurassic Park in Concert, but my first time in Charlotte and the first time for both my spouse and son. We all had a great time and the concessions and amenities at Ovens are very good.

I thought Robert Plant was there

by DiveHard on 4/26/15Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Outstanding evening for the symphony. Led Zeppelin lends itself well to a full orchestra. The show was outstanding as was the singer. Don't pass this one by. If you don't think you like the symphony....this will change your mind

    Not what I was expecting

    by Leigh823 on 3/24/15Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The orchestra was amazing, as always. Advertising of the event should have made more clear that they would be playing with a cover band. "The Music of Led Zeppelin" title led me to believe the symphony would be playing the music, only. I wouldn't have attended a cover band performance. If they symphony was going to perform something like this for prices as high as they were, they should have at least enlisted ZOSO, who is the #1 Zeppelin cover band, instead of a second string cover band. We left at intermission.

Zeppelin & Symphony - match made on Heaven's Stair

    by ZedHead64 on 3/24/15Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Randy Jackson's vocal likeness to Plant was uncanny. While not quite as powerful vocally, he made up for in his musical talent instrumentally. And Page's counterpart nailed the electric solos followed by a back and forth dual with the lead violinist. The humorous interaction with the audience and obvious fan devotion to lyrics and air guitar/drums made this performance engaging and one to remember.

    The Music of Led Zeppelin

by Anonymous on 3/24/15Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The Music of Led Zeppelin was presented in a manner in which there was something to ejjoy for every musical taste. The sympony did a wonderful job presenting it as half rock concert half classical music. I would recommend this event to all ages.

    Zeppelin by Symphony

by Cmullincharlotte on 3/24/15Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Fabulous! As though Page and Plant had always envisioned their music performed this way, and maybe indeed they did. Was especially nice to be able to take my boyfriend - ten years older than me and his grown son, twenty years younger than me and each one of us enjoyed every minute!

    Big Surprise on Plus Side

by Anonymous on 10/22/12Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Tribute to the Bee Gees was one of the most entertaining programs my wife and I have seen in a long time. The Band and Singers who mimic the Bee Gees were outstanding and the Orchestra was manificent. Highly recommend if you like the Bee Gees.
