    Carpenter Tribute Concert

by Brad on 9/28/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

My spouse and I went to the Carpenters Tribute at the Parker playhouse in Ft Lauderdale this past Saturday. The female singer, Sally Olson was excellent. The issue I had was she was not on stage that long. The actor that played Richard Carpenter, Ned Mills, took over the show and it appeared to be the main character. Karen, or Sally, should have been the main character. I was disappointed with not enjoying Sally's voice more. As a result we left a bit early before the show ended.

    Terrific Show

by B. A. on 9/28/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Amazing how the singers/instrumentalists look so much like the actual Carpenters. The Carpenters were a big part of me and my wife of 49years life. We played their songs at our wedding. (Our wedding song was "Close to you") One of the best "Oldies" shows that we've seen!

    The Carpenters

by Alan B. on 9/27/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

This tribute show was incredible! Sally Olson as Karen Carpenter and Ned Mills as Richard Csrpenter were phenomenal! Sally looks and sounds exactly like Karen. It is almost eerie! Ned captured Richard's sense of humor and great showmanship. The live band were winderful too. I have seen other Carpenters tribute shows but this was the best! This is also the first time that I have seen both siblings in a tribute concert. I could see why they have won lots of accolades and awards. They definitely earned the recognition! The show was based on the Carpenters 1976 UK Tour. They also have a residency in Las Vegas. They have only just begun.

    Extremely disappointed

by Eldad on 9/27/22Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Even though "Karen" was amazing and "Richard" was a great piano player, the band was average at best and the worst part... THEY USE HEAVY TRACKS! They weren't subtle, they were in your face! Strings, backup vocals and even bass (no bass player on stage). It was like going to a Carpenter's karaoke show.

    Excellent show!!

    by R. C. on 1/12/20Parker Playhouse - Ft Lauderdale

"Karen Carpenter" was excellent and her band was phenomenal! Really great show bringing back lots of memories. In addition to the music, it was filling with lots of history and information about the life of Karen & Richard Carpenter.

    Enjoyable evening

by Trudy on 1/12/20Parker Playhouse - Ft Lauderdale

The venue is great - love The Parker Playhouse - seats wide and plenty of leg room. Not a bad seat in the house. The performance was very good. Loved the music and the performer (Michelle). One disappointment was that she did not sound like Karen Carpenter (only on one or two notes), nor did she resemble her. I’ve been to past performances with South Florida Legends where the performer (forget her name) sounded like and resembled Karen Carpenter (hair and dress). Although there was nothing negative with Michelle’s show, I preferred the South Florida Legends singer.

Don't let a wet noodle tell you it was anything but Good!

by Ed M on 1/12/20Parker Playhouse - Ft Lauderdale

The venue is out favorite. Small but not to small. Rows are wider than any other I have been to so getting to and from your seat is easy. The Carpenters Tribute was 1st class. I felt like Karen was on stage the voice is so close. The sound system is excellent. The ushers are volunteers who love what they do and help you every step of the way. When the upgrades are finished it will be even nicer.

    Karen Carpenter is remembered

by JB on 1/12/20Parker Playhouse - Ft Lauderdale

A great performance giving us the best of Karen backed up with a seasoned grouo of musucians. No bad seats at this venue. Parker Playhouse is a superior venue and with renovations underway will only get even better.

Enjoyed the evening. The drumming was too loud on some songs. Otherwise they nailed it.

    Carpenters Tribute

Very good show. Comedian was great. Did however have a difficult time hearing main singer when she was introducing other band members or explaining specifics about songs.

The Carpenters Tribute was so so

by Diannia on 10/24/17Kuss Auditorium at Clark State Performing Arts Center - Springfield

It seemed geared to Seniors only. I am hardly a senior. Everything was slowed down and it wasn't loud enough.

    Loved the music!

by 76ers on 10/24/17Kuss Auditorium at Clark State Performing Arts Center - Springfield

The music sounded very much like the Carpenters. We heard our favorites as well as two that we had never heard. The musicians were all excellent and Michelle interacted with the audience.

    The Carpenters Tribute

by Rodgeandcat on 10/24/17Kuss Auditorium at Clark State Performing Arts Center - Springfield

This show was great. The next best thing to having Karen singing herself. Anyone who loved the Carpenters music, should not find fault with this performance. I saw the Carpenters in person back in the 70's, not quite up to that only because there is really no Richard here and back then Karen gave you a drum solo as well, however, having said that, this was a wonderful tribute to Karen Carpenter...
