We already had high expectations going into this — it came highly recommended by friends who attended in previous years. We were glad we attended the matinée so we could see all the excited kids and families in attendance. The hoop dancing was especially stunning.
The Brooklyn Ballet Nutcracker was great. A event for the entire family.
Great for adults and kids! The performers were all amazing!
Really a lot of surprises and humor. Just wish parents would remember that their own children are not the only audience members and teach them how to sit quietly through a performance, or remove them if they are unable to stop making noise. This was a 7p show, not a children's matinee and it was distracting and annoying to hear one kid make constant noise throughout the performance.
Great show for kids and adults! Variety dance styles. Very entertaining ! Can’t wait to see it again!
It’s quite disrespectful to call something ballet Nutcracker when only a fifth of a performance consisted of actual ballet dancing and the rest were just people who enjoyed dancing showing off their skills. We had to watch BREAKDANCE for 20 minutes as a part of Nutcracker?! Same stuff I can see for free on any train. Absolutely no storyline whatsoever. People were walking out mid performance. Such a waste of time and money. False advertising of an event.
Good variety of dance and music in a beautiful Theatre
This rendition of The Nutcracker is a must see! It’s worthy of the greatness and diversity of Brooklyn! Myself and my 10 year old daughter LOVED it!!!!

This updated version of the Nutcracker adds hoop hip hop, street dance and flamenco dance to classical ballet. Motion sensor LED lights are embedded in costumes for stunning effect. It was a very memorable performance.
Don’t call it Nutcracker. It’s not. It’s not ballet either. The show was actually insulting to chaikovskij and nutcharker
Wow...this show is great. Ballet, HipHop, African Dance, etc. all rolled up into one amazing performance of the Nutcracker. Kudos Brooklyn Ballet for an outstanding show. I will be there next year for sure wherever the performance is....Kings Theatre was amazing though.
