    it was OK

by BEENtoALOTofROCKconcerts on 12/8/14Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

Some really weird bands opened. Big Data was definitely not my kind of music but the crowd seemed to enjoy them. Alt-J just stood there and their music wasn't that great to begin with so that performance was a snooze fest. J. Roddy had great energy and it was the first time hearing their music, they put on a great performance. New Politics lead singer had someone in the crowd hold him up as he performed a song. Also, he break danced and performed a couple cover songs. That band was amazing, definitely worth going to see if you get the chance. Chevelle put on a great show and sung the classics. Weezer just stood there and the quality of the performance was poor but they played all their popular songs. Fall Out Boy sounds 100x better on the radio, even their energy wasn't anything to brag about, definitely won't be going to see them again.

    big ticket - Jax

by sandman2008 on 12/8/14Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

Awesome show - great line-up. Only way it could have been better was to have Dirty Heads added, like they did for the Saturday show in southern FL. New Politics absolutely rocked and got the crowd pumping.

This was my first music festival and let me tell you I am extremely addicted now. I went with a friend who said it was arguably the best day of her life. Originally, we went in order to see The 1975, Twenty | One | Pilots, and Manchester Orchestra, but I definitely liked other bands there that I had never heard of. There was a great mix of genres, and it was rad listening to Jimmy Eat World while the stage I stood in front of was going through a set change.

I can't believe how amazing it was!

by Shantastick on 12/12/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

The Big Ticket had such a great lineup this year! Best of all, the acts were pretty varied in their musical styles. Twenty One Pilots was the highlight of the day with The 1975 and 30 Seconds to Mars being close 2nd and 3rd. Frank Turner also had a great set! My only complaint is that the area for VIP wasn't close enough and off center for the main stage. However, I just joined the general admission crowd and had a way better time! Can't wait for next year!

    Cool show...cool weather!

by Southernvisitor on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

A somewhat chilly event, but very enjoyable nonetheless. As we were interested in seeing the later bands, we only attended the second half of the lineup. Solid performances by several bands, although we weren't familiar with some of them and didn't have the "sing-along" concert experience. Thirty Seconds to Mars played a solid set, very similar to one seen this past October in Ohio, just a bit shorter. The only real complaint there was the fact that their anchor single, "The Kill", was an acoustic version. This is a really powerful song that really benefits from full instrumentation, and it falls a little flat as an acoustic. Chester Bennington did a fantastic job as the frontman of Stone Temple Pilots. Compared to their last (and somewhat weak) tour with Scott Weiland, the experience was exponentially better. Chester was in good voice and performed well, which Scott did not on the last go-round. The band was tighter and more in sync. This switch was a good decision, guys. Sometimes to keep the ship afloat, you have to throw the deadweight overboard. : )

    unforgettable experience

by adtrgirl on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

My only complaint was the out of control mosh pits during jimmy eat world and adtr. It was difficult to stand up let alone enjoy the music and experience. Other than that, I had an amazing time. I crowd surfed, got to listen to several of my favorite bands up close, and made some new friends during all of that! I haven't stopped talking about it to my friends and family and it has been three days since the big ticket. Needless to say, it is deffinitely an experience I will never forget.

30STM was the ONLY reason to go!

by LobsterChic on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

Started the day with Pepper at 1:45. Although they put on a good show, there was no energy to the crowd and my fiance was one of the 5 people that apparently knew them. Then there was nothing on decent for another 3 hours. A Day to Remember came on and they performed well. Had a memorable "hamster ball" trick, but only did it on one side of the crowd. There was still no energy in the crowd though. I have seen them before where the crowd goes wild. Then 30STM came on stage and Leto lit the crowd up. He was not going to allow a lousy crowd. The first 25 minutes of the set (60 minutes total) were all new songs. Yet, he got the crowd singing along anyway. He is an AWESOME performer. They leave the stage and STP w/ Chester comes on. The songs off their new album sounded fine, because they were written for Chester's voice and STP played as his back-up band. Chester sounded flat singing the classic STP songs. It was not good.

The Big Ticket - Jax Metro Park

by Ckrumena on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

The line up was spectacular!!!!! Purchasing the VIP Tickets was a JOKE!!! VIP sitting more than 200 feet from the stage on high school portable bleachers and to the far right!!! Not even in line with the stage. Covered seating meant by the shade of a tree. Take a lesson from Palm Beach's stage settings Metro Park!!! DJ and crew from X102.9 were great hosts for the event. Sound and lighting matched the line up - fantastic. Oh and when it was brought to the parks attention that placing Sleeping with Sirens on stage 3 was a safety hazard not only for the band but also the audience because of low and easy stage access - the venue stepped up and moved them to stage 2. Great job coming from a Safety Professional. With exception of seating for VIP - loved it!!!! And People learn to pick up your own trash!!!!!

    The Big Ticket

by Puck78 on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

The lineup was good. The sound was so so. Either the person running both sound booths was clueless or they need to overhaul the equipment. The choice of food for the day was also pretty bleak. For being there all day and only having 5 choices it was pretty bad. And I'm really glad I didn't go in for the VIP tickets - what a waste of money.

The drummer from 30 Seconds to Mars kicked A$$!

by Mortimer1968 on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

Even though we arrived a little later in the day, the place was crowded. The audience was a mixture of young and old a like. The atmosphere was great...loud music, crowd surfing, people singing the lyrics to the band. It was awesome!

    Excellent!

by pmmoe on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

I went to The Big Ticket specifically for the 1975, Jimmy Eat World 30 Seconds to Mars. But, I was so pleased with every performance I was able to see. The environment of the event is really upbeat, and you meet some strangely interesting folks. I had such a great time, so if you have a chance to attend...GO!

    The 1975 was incredible!

by MelissaEarly5 on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

This was my first time experiencing a huge music festival! Every single band was great and definitely knew how to put on a show! There were 3 stages and I waited for like 3 hours to watch The 1975 perform since that was the main band I wanted to see! There was nothing bad about the festival and I definitely will go to another one!

Fun but could have been much better.

by AtlantaSam on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

Large screens would have made the event better. The sound was way off on some of the bands (Pepper). Dirty Heads and Twenty One Pilots were awesome. 30 seconds to Mars was too mellow to have for one of the evening headliners.

    Amazing

by Alexis2269 on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

I was in such heaven for this fest! To have such wonderful music coming at me from all sides was unbelievable! I'm happy to say that I have a few new bands to get into now, and I can finally say that I've seen legends, some of my heroes, live, on stage, performing some of my favorite songs. I do want to turn a bit more bitter on this and say that I was extremely pissed that 3/4 of the crowds cleared out after Sleeping With Sirens played(late, just after 30 Seconds to Mars), which pushed back Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington, leaving barely half the field filled for these rock legends. I felt slighted on behalf of the band, who just tried to do the best they could with what they had. Jimmy Eat World had to do the same too. I love you guys!

    Awesome shows, horrible VIP.

by arandompiece on 12/11/13Jacksonville Metro Park - Jacksonville

Tge VIP wasn't worth the money. Last year you could get right up to the stage. This year it was nowhere near the stage in the front. You couldn't see much from the back of the stage because of all of the equipment. There weren't options for food/drink, and the lines were just as long as outside of the vip section. I spent 90% of the show outside of vip. Twenty one pilots, pepper, Frank Turner, Jimmy eat world, and dirty heads were the best performances in that order. I will go next year!
