Texas A&M Aggies Football History
Texas A&M first fielded a varsity football team as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas in 1894. Success came early for the school as coach Dana X. Bible led Texas A&M to an undefeated season in 1917, a campaign in which the Aggies were not scored on even once. After Bible served a year in the military during World War I, he returned and repeated this feat in 1919. From 1954 to 1957, the legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant led Texas A&M, developing such notable players and future coaches as John David Crow, Jack Pardee and Gene Stallings. The 1954 team, known collectively as "The Junction Boys," overcame the worst season in Bryant's career to become legends in their own right after willing themselves back into title contention.
Through the program's historic associations with the Southwest and Big 12 Conferences, and its current affiliation with the Southeastern Conference, Texas A&M has had many bitter foes. Its fiercest rivalry is with the University of Texas, though that effectively ended upon the Aggies' switch to the SEC in 2012, but is poised to return with Texas moving to the SEC in 2024. Tense rivalries with LSU, Arkansas and South Carolina remain, however. The Aggies have had two Heisman Trophy winners: John David Crow in 1957, and Johnny Manziel in 2012. They've won 17 SWC championships plus the 1998 Big 12 Conference championship, to go along with three national titles, in 1919, 1927 and 1939.
The Aggies are coached by Jimbo Fisher, who previously led Florida State to a national championship in 2013. He replaced Kevin Sumlin after the 2017 season.

Texas A&M Aggies Football at Kyle Field
College Station, Texas, is home to the Texas A&M Aggies. The Aggies play at Kyle Field, which originally opened in 1927 and now seats 102,733 after a complete renovation between 2013 and 2015. Texas A&M is known for its "12th Man" tradition, which stems from the 1922 Dixie Classic against Centre College. Spectator and basketball player E. King Gill rode the bench for A&M when coach Dana X. Bible realized he was running out of healthy substitutes, inspiring the Aggies to a 22-14 victory over the undefeated Centre Praying Colonels.
The Texas A&M University Aggies’ 2023 regular season kicks off in September at home as the Aggies face off against the New Mexico Lobos. Texas A&M will play their final game of the regular season at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana against SEC West rivals the LSU Tigers. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:

Facility was great and the atmosphere was electric. Nashville experience plus football was a great combination.
Great seats! Great night! Very nice stadium! And the cardinals got the win!
I thought the game was awesome and the seat were the best. My husband loves Louisville and was really impressed with the game and the seats. This is the second time I have been to a game. Last you was Notre Dame and LSU. Love it
The atmosphere in the stadium was fantastic. It was great ballgame but wished for a different outcome
We toured the stadium the day before the game and loved the VIP tour of AT&T stadium. The guide was fun and very knowledgeable. Coming back the next day for the game of course it was much more crowded and we thought leaving 2 hours ahead of time would be plenty to park and get in the game before kick off and see pre game festivities. We were in Silver Lot 4 which was a close lot but the road was blocked off to get in it and we had to circle around to come in from the opposite side. Then walking to the GHJ entrance was longer than expected but that was what was on our tickets to sit in sec 329. But those two things were minimal compared to the line we stood in for OVER AN HOUR to get in the stadium! People who go to Cowboy games said they never have to stand in line like that. It was hot and VERY crowded body to body.... it barely moved as there was no organization to the queue just a lot of college kids and adults pressing, moving trying to get up to the entry for security. We missed kickoff and got in after the game started. My dad is 88 years old and my daughter has Cerebral Palsy and if I would have known it would be that strenuous to get in the stadium I would have investigated arrangements for handicapped entrances etc. Other than that issue the game was great and went into overtime.
The game was very exciting. The crowd was enthusiastic. Great experience.
This is a terrible venue for anything! This is my sixth or seventh visit to this hell hole and NO More! Concession prices are outrageous. Nachos, hot dog sliders, a vodka soda and s Chardonnay cost $62. Parking at $45 is a ticket to hell as there is no police presence toget you out of the lot.
It was a great game! The stadium is wonderful! Gig em' Aggies!
My husband and I enjoyed our event with Arkansas vs Texas A&M, even though our team did not win. The game was fun, the seats were great, It was a relaxing fun-filled game!
great venue to see a football game. enjoyed everything but the final score. :) will get them next year. GO HOGS!
I attended the Arkansas vs. Texas A&M game at AT&T Stadium on September 27, 2014. I came to cheer for the Hogs (who sadly lost after leading much of the game), but still had a terrific time. We had very good seats with easy access to concessions (overpriced) and rest rooms (surprisingly spartan for such a luxurious stadium). Take a look at the attached picture to get a sense of the view from our seats.
The Southwest Classic was awesome!! The atmosphere of the stadium was amazing!!
Section 201 is good seating for such a mega-stadium and we enjoyed the college atmosphere before - during - and after the game. Thanks Ticketmaster, keep the tickets coming our way!
Great time!!! Wonderful memories will be with me and my son always.
Parking is a royal pain unless you want to pay a small fortune! Food costs a large fortune. The stadium is awesome, but signage could be MUCH better at guiding you to your seat.
The Aggies won in overtime! It was a thrilling come from behind victory. I suppose the Razorbacks might not suggest it was a 5 star event.
