That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That's just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid 80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Aerosmith.
The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits "Modern Day Cowboy" and "Little Suzi." 1989's double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)" and "Love Song". Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band's "Signs." Other 90s albums from Tesla include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000 and recently debuted their new single, "Time To Rock!"
TESLA has endured many of the same taste-changing challenges that affected many in the post-grunge world, but through it all, their blue-collar work ethic and dedication to the faithful fan base has helped them not just survive, but thrive. TESLA's legacy is alive and well as they continue to record and sellout venues all over the world. As comfortable, rugged, and dependable as your favorite pair of boots, they endure. TESLA is a celebration of the greatest spirits of rock and roll.

Great show like always. Great songs -- they still have it !!!!!!
Loved the show! Went to GnR a few years back but it did not sound the same. Tesla sounded awesome and I am so glad we went!! Love this band!!
Seeing Tesla at The House Of blues Las Vegas was great! They still sound and played great! The seats we had were in a perfect spot and we were surprised how comfortable they were! Definitely would go to see them again and plan to!
These guys have always put on an AWESOME show!!! My son has been a fan since he was about 10yrs old and now he is 20!! We have traveled the Las Vegas and ALB (New Mexico) to see them a few time now (live Colorado). LOVE when they do small venues because they can play lots more. Cant wait to see again next year!!
First time at HOB, great venue. Tesla put on a great show. Sounded great, great energy. Must see
Tesla always puts on a great show! The House of Blues really gives an intimate feel with a massive sound. We had a table and our server was attentive. Drinks were expensive, but at least had a good kick to them. We don’t live in Vegas but when Tesla comes for their residency we know it’ll be a great night!
I have seen Tesla multiple times since they started and they are still rocking it and showing so much love for the fans! This residency venue was absolutely amazing and the House of Blues staff were very attentive to this crowded room. This is a definite "must see"event!
First timer but a fan back in the 80's. Great show and I'm glad we went. I only wished "The Way it Is"was on their setlist. My twin 19 year olds thought it was in their top 3 concerts. Along with Tesla's radio hits, they've added a few more songs to their play list.
Tesla still sounds good! Unlike Axel, Vince, and Dave. Both shows were sold-out. Everyone was having a really good time including me!. Awesome show!! At 60 something they still got it!
I have seen Tesla about thirty times since 1986 and they just keep rocking. They are the best rock band born of the eighties. If you get the chance GO!!!
The concert was absolutely amazing !!🤩 mystic lake is an awesome place to see a concert, our seats were incredible.
Easy parking, easy to find great seats and Tesla was wonderful. Had a great time!
The band was great, but the lead singer was so so SO bad. It was cringe-worthy. Wet literally got up and left.
Tesla never disappoints! Absolutely love them! I would like an opportunity to purchase front row tickets since those don't seem to be available unless your a VIP at the casino.
Ive been to a lot of concerts and this one was one of the best! Perfect night at stir cove and Tesla did not let me down. They played all of their best tunes and some new ones and sounded extremly great! This concert will forever be remembered! Love these guys and wouldnt hesitate to see them again!!!
What a good show guys look and sound great hope they come again soon!!!!
First of all I'm a BIG fan of Tesla and have seen them play multiple times in several states over the years. I have always loved the group and they have been awesome to watch and listen to over the years. So this year I was very happy that Tesla was going to preform at my local state fair and I got tickets first thing (back in January and had to wait 8 months until the show). fast forward to today a few days after the show and I'm still very disappointed in the song selection that was preformed. Tesla sang only a hand full of the old hits from the good ol days. They song a few cover songs that was not needed (as they have plenty of there own songs that they should have sang). They also sang several of there new songs that were good but not as great as the 80's/90's songs that everyone loves and what made the band great. So what I'm getting to, is if the band or band manager happens to read these reviews that make sure the play list is mostly the great songs that built Tesla and not other garbage songs. Edison Medicine, Song and Emotion, Hang Tough were not even sung, these are the songs that everyone wants to hear and those were not even played. So yes I was disappointed and my wife that I actually took to her first show back several years ago (yes it was Tesla) was very disappointed as well. Yes I will most likely try to see them again next year if they are still touring but sure hope the songs will reflect the good old days of Tesla an not what I hear a couple days ago. Rock on Tesla
Saw them in duquoin Illinois in 1989 then again in 2025 sounded great both times. Definitely one of my favorite bands!
They put on a great show! They truly love what they do and their fans. Hearing them live brings back so many memories. The venue was packed and by a fluke, I got a front row seat the day of the concert. I got some great pictures and video. Thank you, Tesla and Duquoin for bringing them so close. It means a lot to be able to see a band from my era that has most of its original members. Also, the price was reasonable.
Not a fan of fairs a single bit but the concert rocked
