About

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That's just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid 80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits "Modern Day Cowboy" and "Little Suzi." 1989's double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)" and "Love Song". Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band's "Signs." Other 90s albums from Tesla include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000 and recently debuted their new single, "Time To Rock!"

TESLA has endured many of the same taste-changing challenges that affected many in the post-grunge world, but through it all, their blue-collar work ethic and dedication to the faithful fan base has helped them not just survive, but thrive. TESLA's legacy is alive and well as they continue to record and sellout venues all over the world. As comfortable, rugged, and dependable as your favorite pair of boots, they endure. TESLA is a celebration of the greatest spirits of rock and roll.

    Still Top Guns.

by JaymzP on 4/15/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

This band remains all A list; first due to the deep reservoir of instant classics that still stir heart/soul and second because after 38+ years their ability to sell their classic tunes is fully intact. The show is primarily Jeff and Frank (much like kindred spirits Aerosmith with Steven and Joe), but you get relentless horsepower from Brian, Dave and Steve. The setlist was well crafted and the audience was leaning in jubilantly from the beginning with maybe one exception being a slight clunker of a new song. This band remains an American treasure.

by Dschaub10 on 4/15/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Sonically they were excellent, and I did really love the music. The songs brang back a lot of memories. I had a perfect seat in the balcony, near the bar.

    30 year wait

by Nathan Collins on 4/13/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I waited 30 years to Tesla. Previously, something would always happen, work usually. I finally got to see the guys at the house of blues in Vegas. The Show was worth every year I had to wait and they certainly didn't disappoint. This show was awesome. Great lighting, perfect atmosphere, they played like they did in 86. Jeff came out and laid down the lyrics in true Tesla style....takes ya back. The band is so on point, you'd think your listening to the old 33. Way to go guys and thank you. Tesla fans are different than other bands...we're family man.

I have seen Tesla many times. 90's 2000's and now. If anyone is questioning whether Jeff Keith still has it or not, believe me he does. It was an awesome shoe and amazing from start to finish, Great band, great crowd interactions and was worth the trip to Vegas to see them.

    Tesla rocked!

by Led Gypsy on 4/8/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Tesla has called their mini-residency at House of Blues in Mandalay Bay "The Las Vegas Takeover". It's aptly titled, as I found out on Friday night. While the casino and the HoB weren't heavily populated on a weekend, as they usually are, you would've never known it by the enthusiasm of the crowd and the band playing for them. Great musicianship, stage presence and technical acumen were all present as the band from Sac-town made their way through a 90-minute set. They played all the oldies and goodies, particularly from "Mechanical Resonance"and "The Great Radio Controversy", so it was deja vu from the 1980s. What more could you ask for? They didn't play "Edison's Medicine"from "Psychotic Supper"despite having a Theramin at the ready on stage left. Other than that, I don't have a complaint in the world about this show. Definitely worth the time and the price.

    Best band best venue

by Tesla Rocks! on 4/8/24House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Saw Tesla at HOB Vegas 4/5 and 4/6. Always a great live performance. They just bring it every show. Great mix of songs including my fav Paradise. JK, B Dubb, Frank and team all rock it out. HOB general admission is the way to go. HOB is one of the best medium venues around.
