Tenors of Rock on Tour

Few of us could even dream of playing the guitar like Angus Young or playing drums like John Bonham, but we all feel no shame in belting out our favorite song when it comes on the car stereo. That's the basic premise behind the Tenors of Rock — they reimagine the rock ‘n' roll concert less as a display of instrumental wizardry than a communal singing event. The five-man UK crew effectively blur the line between rock band and boy band, performing classic anthems by Queen, Guns N' Roses and Bon Jovi as a united harmonic front, like a barbershop troupe decked out in ripped jeans, covered in tattoos and flashing the devil's sign. (Or, in the case of the group's biggest and most animated member — Jimmy Denning — it's a mohawk, leather jacket and kilt.) But as a Vegas institution since 2017, the Tenors of Rock are no stranger to spectacle — at their shows, you can expect dazzling video backdrops, flashing lights, choreographed moves, copious amounts of dry ice and, of course, a room full of people singing along like nobody's listening.

Tenors of Rock Background

When they formed in 2010, the Tenors of Rock didn't boast the most rock ‘n' roll résumés: vocalists David "Dai" Richards, Jimmy Denning, Jonathan Williams, Tommy Sherlock and Dan Schumann were all veterans of Broadway and London's West End. But anyone who's ever heard a Queen record knows that the distinction between rock showmanship and musical theater has always been a little hazy, and when the Tenors of Rock appeared on UK singing-competition show X Factor in 2013 to put a vocal-troupe spin on fist-pumping classics like Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer," they became instant sensations. After performing concerts all over the world, the group settled in Las Vegas in 2017, holding down a two-year residency at Harrah's before moving over to Planet Hollywood.

Thought it was a real good show.

by Pam on 12/27/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

It was a small venue so we got really good seats. Enjoyed all the songs. They were very lively and upbeat. Made for a very nice Christmas Eve.

    Excellent show

by Karen on 11/27/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

Very intimate theatre. They have a great sound and play all the favourites from 70s and 80s. I think I knew every song! We had front row seats - a little bit loud, but only added to the experience. They stuck around after to meet and pose for pictures with the audience. All seemed like very nice guys!

    Under-Rated!

    by Music Lover! on 10/28/19

These guys were absolutely awesome! Performed each classic rock song perfectly. The originals would have enjoyed themselves and praised these guys as well. Definitely under-rated. Tenors of Rock needs to be relocated in the much larger venue!

Tenors of Rock Do Just That

by Benny on 10/10/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

This group of guys can sing beautifully! They perform some of the biggest rock anthems and hits along with some very specially selected songs. Their backup consists of a drummer and super-talented guitar player. The venue is very small and not really fitting for this type of show. Hopefully it is a temporary location. This show is well worth your time!!

    Tenets of Rock

by LJ on 9/9/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

This group was AWESOME! I’d seen posters when they were at Harrahs and wanted to go but never got around to it. These guys sing their butts off! They each have such great, individual, unique voices on their own -I’d buy each one of their individual albums if they had it! However.......together they were just perfect! They were also funny, interactive with the crowd, and most of all - they genuinely seemed to enjoy every minute of it! I WILL be returning! (Hardest part was finding the room!)

    Not my cup of tea

by D. V. on 8/5/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

Was looking forward to this show. While each performer had a beautiful voice showcased during ballads but each of them would dissolve into screaming most of their songs. The volume was too loud for the size of the venue.

    Horrific

by Las Vegas Connection on 6/21/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

No bar, no bathrooms, 20 people in audience. Would have walked out but paid too much for tickets. Brother and sister from out of town, I was mortified

    Great show, wanted more

by Steven M on 5/8/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

The Tenors of Rock are great! They perform fantastically and are very nice (there was a meet and greet after the show). But the performance ran just over 1 hour which seemed a little on the short side for what it cost to attend. Other than that, an awesome experience!

    Amazing band crap venue

by Vegasgirl on 4/28/19Sin City at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino - Las Vegas

Bought VIP tickets because I’d seen the band before in their previous venue and they were amazing, so worth the upgrade. We arrived to the show about 5 minutes late because there was some confusion on our end regarding which theatre they were performing in at Planet Hollywood. The seats are not assigned so the only three seats left in VIP were not together. That was not ok with us. The guy told us we could sit together in general admission and he’d refund our money. That was ok since it was a small theatre, it didn’t matter too much. When we left, I asked about our refund (I was only expecting the difference between the tickets) and the guy looked at me like I was crazy, and said he never said that. I spoke with a guy that I believe does lights and sound for the band and told him what happened. He took my husband’s business card to contact us, but we’ve not heard from him either. So we paid over $100 per ticket for crappy seats, for a show that was just over an hour long with no bar service, with really poor sound quality. Again, I love this band, but I will never see them in that venue again.

Great show. All songs we were right on spot. Great interaction with audience. Really looked like the performers were really into the songs.

    The show was magnificent !

by M. S. on 2/7/19Harrah's Showroom at Harrah's Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I went to see the show with my two daughters. I am 73 and my daughters are in their 50's they enjoyed music from their teens and I enjoyed wonderful memories of hearing the music throughout the household as we shared the pleasures of their growing up. We left the theatre filled with the magic of a wonderful trip down memory lane.

    Great Rock Group

by Anonymous on 11/4/18Harrah's Showroom at Harrah's Las Vegas - Las Vegas

My Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Tenors of Rock show. It was entertaining and fun. All members of the group were outstanding singers with each making their own contribution to the show. Loved the sense of humor of Big and "little" Jimmy. In addition to the five guys, I must also commend the lady drummer, she was so talented as was the guitarist. This show appeals to young and old alike, it's great!

    Overpriced

by VFBSMS on 10/22/18Harrah's Showroom at Harrah's Las Vegas - Las Vegas

We went and seen this show this weekend. We chose this over “We Love the 90’s” show. We wish we would have seen the other or save the money all together. They are good, but there is free entertainment throughout the strip that is just as good if not better. I knew we messed up once we got there and it was only hold full and they don’t check your tickets when your tickets again when you leave to use the restroom or drinks.

Would pass on this a second time

by DVSS on 10/21/18Harrah's Showroom at Harrah's Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Didn’t expect lip syncing and pretaped music for the money I paid. Individually these guys are talented but I didn’t care for the show. Some songs had lots of keyboards yet no keyboard was anywhere to be found. A couple of times one of the guys would enter the crowd at which time it was clear no singing was happening. Some songs were live but the rest was disappointing.

    Tenors of Rock

by GEMIII on 10/8/18Harrah's Showroom at Harrah's Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The Tenors of Rock show was SPECTACULAR! The voices, the personalities, the music was top notch! As a professional musician myself, I know the amount of work that goes into a production like this. The physical toll that this type of vocal performance takes on the body and the voice is huge. The professional training is evident. The 3 piece band (guitar/bass/drums) were terrific players. The one thing that is missing, is a live PIANO player. I really do believe that this would be an important addition if the show goes on the road and tours around the USA and abroad. Many of the tunes had "canned" piano parts, and this was an obvious lack in the show. I'm sure that it is due to $. Although the show is highly rated, I think that the hotel should do better promotion since the venue was not even close to capacity during the performance that we saw. I would most definitely suggest this show to others!!!
