Tennessee Lady Volunteers Women’s Basketball History
The University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers, or “Lady Vols,” hold one of the greatest legacies in women’s college basketball, winning eight NCAA titles and appearing in every Women’s March Madness tournament since its inception in 1982. Naismith Coach of the Century Pat Summitt led the Lady Vols from 1974 to 2012 and won multiple championships in each of her three decades with the team. Summitt never posted a losing season record and retired with a then-record 1,098 career wins. The program counts Candace Parker, Tamika Catchings, Kara Lawson and Chamique Holdsclaw among its distinguished alumni. Under current head coach Kellie Harper, the Lady Vols have earned back-to-back Sweet Sixteen appearances in 2022 and 2023.

Tennessee Lady Volunteers at Thompson-Boling Arena
The Volunteers play home games at Thompson-Boling Arena, located on the university’s campus in Knoxville, Tennessee and it holds 21,678 people. The men’s and women’s basketball teams have played in the arena since its opening in 1987. Thompson-Boling Arena takes its name from B. Ray Thompson, who donated $5 million for the arena’s construction in 1982, and former university president Edward J. Boling. The basketball court is named "The Summitt," after Pat Summitt, the legendary coach of the women’s basketball program.
We all Loved the game the only complaint is I purchased 17 ticket seats and people were sitting in all of my seats and would not move we were very disappointed about that We had to go find more seats all apart from my kiddos that I brought to the stadium for the 1St time ever. W me love the Lady VOLS
Section I have always sat in was unavailable when single game tickets went on sale. After purchasing a ticket all of a sudden that section was now available. Second complaint I could not purchase an end seat ticket. If you wanted one seat the website prevented a single end seat from being purchased. There were 5-6 seats in a row still couldn’t have that end seat.
Thompson-Boling Arena is a great place to see a women's basketball game. Once the doors open everyone was able to get through the line very quickly. Although I do wish that they opened the doors sooner so as to give fans a chance to look around the arena before we need to be in our seats for game time.
The staff at the arena were extremely hospitable and kind until the game was over the staff we dealt with after UT loss was a polar opposite experience ! Can’t say that for the Tennessee fans there but it’s rivalry so it’s to be expected..overall great environment for WBB but
I've never been so disappointed as I was attending the Lady Vol basketball game on Feb. 25th. The first half was fine, but during the break, 3 fans for the opposing team sat down in the empty seats behind us. They were rude and obnoxious, and everyone in our area were offered. The older ladies next to me were very upset, so I went to the usher and reported this. I am positive they were not in the seats they paid for. The usher never came & checked to see if they were (1) in the correct seats, or (2) ask them to exercise more appropriate behavior. Several of us finally had to leave the seats WE PAID FOR because the intruders behavior was so offensive. I traveled several hours to attend the game, as I normally try to attend at least 1 game in-person every year. I don't anticipate doing that again however. I work too hard for my money and have been a devoted fan 35 years of the Lady Vols -- I think I deserve a better experience at a game when I purchase tickets and plan a weekend in Knoxville. I'll just stay home in the future!
Ticketmaster was so easy and it was the first time I have ever used it. I was able to get my tickets on my phone with no problem.

We try to take the grandkids to at least a couple of Lady Vols games each season and we are never disappointed. We love watching our girls play and it’s something the whole family can enjoy together.
Loved the atmosphere and team. Really hope my daughter could attend this School in a couple years
