Tedeschi Trucks Band is a 12-piece powerhouse ensemble led by the husband/wife duo of guitarist Derek Trucks and singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, "two of the best roots rock musicians of their generation" (NPR). With their own potent original songwriting alongside an extensive canon of influences, the dynamic all-star band owns a reputation for world-class musical expression bolstered by each album and every performance.
Since forming in 2010, TTB's caravan has traveled countless miles to bring their music to audiences around the world. From sold-out multi-night residencies across America to barnstorming tours through Europe and Japan to the flagship Wheels of Soul annual summer amphitheater tour, the band's shows are an eagerly anticipated highlight of the live music calendar and "nothing short of exhilarating" (Salon). Whether on stage or in the studio, when these supremely talented artists get together, it's a musical experience of profound quality.
One of the best bands on the planet ! Amazing simply Amazing !
Great performance! Great combo together. Wish they had played some of Derek's songs, from "Songlines". Susan is great, just wished they had played some of Derek's also, then it would have been perfect! :)
The Tedeschi Trucks Band was absolutely amazing! Each and every member is soooooo talented. Derek Trucks is a genius on the guitar. Susan Tedeschi is the best female blues singer/guitar player there is. The horn section was phenominal!
I've saw more than 100 shows and this one is in my top 5 if not the best show I've ever saw. I saw them in Charlotte a couple months ago and they have really gotten comfortable with this lineup since then. We had a blast and you could tell they were having a good time too. Probably my new favorite band
Absolutely fandamtastic. Only thing that would have improved it is if Mike had sung more lead. The ultimate combination; this is an amazing band made up of amazing musicians - not just Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. Not to be missed.
I saw Tedeschi Trucks in Charlotte in April and it was one of the best concerts I have ever attended. I bought tickets to take family to see them at DPAC and we were so disappointed. We were on Row N over on the left, so we were not too far back, but the only time we could hear Derek's guitar was during solos and, even then, it was hard to hear. I'm not sure what was going on. We could see he was tearing it up, but we could never hear him. No problems hearing anyone else. I've got tickets to go see him again next month in Spartanburg and hope it will be better. I know I was really upset after driving 5 hours and spending a bunch of money to take family and friends to what I had raved about in Charlotte and what should have been a great show, only to be unable to hear Trucks' guitar work.
Sound mix was a little muddy. Lead guitar didn't stand out, blended too much with band. Same with horn section. Tedeschi has great voice, too bad words were hard to understand. Loved the music, the band and their performance...sound mix didn't make them shine, that's a shame. And, of course, the venue was excellent. Keep it up, National.
I've only seen Derek Trucks a few times and have never been disappointed. This show was no exception. With his wife on vocals and guitar, and an orchestra of musicians backing them, the blew the roof of The National. I can only hope that they will bless us with their presence again in the near future.
This show is by far one of the best shows I have ever seen. I have seen Derek Trucks and Susan before but only seperately. The energy that night was electric. The whole crowd was into the music and it was just an awesome experience. The songs from their new album sounded great. I think we are going to try to see them in Spartanburg SC. It was definitely worth the five hour trip.
I would pawn my car if I had to, to go see them anytime they came within 8 hrs drive of me.
they rocked the house-very enjoyable-loved the venue will return for other shows
Great show! Thanks for coming to Richmond! Had something for everybody. They balanced the new material with some familiar covers, including Derek and the Dominos, Stevie Wonder, and Jimi Hendrix, plus the requisite musical allusions in and between numbers to the Allman Bros. I've listened to Susan for years, and the songwriting is still a work in progress, but it's obvious that they are not afraid to keep putting new stuff out there. It's also clear that they are putting their full weight behind the collaboration. Bottom line - it's real people music. Come back to Richmond soon!
Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable. This band is having a blast doing what they are doing, and it shows. They received a standing ovation after almost every song! They played for well over 2 hours, performing 2 encores as well. Don't miss this show.
The band was extreamly tight and the sound system amazing. What can be said about Derek Trucks that hasn't been said before?
Trucks never disappoints and he appears to be so joyful when he plays with his wife. The show was fun and funky and the band was great. I'm a huge fan. Please come back to Virginia soon!!!!
This was arguably the best show that I've ever been to! Amazing musicians, singers, and music. I'm soooo glad I went!
An excellent show. 2 Drummers! Susan's voice and Derek's guitar playing is just so wonderful. Drove up from Suffolk-well worth the trip. I wouldn't pass up the chance of seeing these 2 play together like this.
Why haven't these two gotten together sooner! Have seen Derek several times. With Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers and with his own band. Have never seen Susan. Together there are not words to describe how fabulous they were. Their band was fabulous also! Ended too soon, even though they did 2 encores. It was the best!
Great arrangements and ensemble playing. Loved the relaxing Midnight In Harlem. Thought the horn playing was soulful and the back-up singing was great. The sound is not consistent in the upper balcony and the view was somewhat obstructed.
Too much Trucks and not enough Tedeschi. WAnted to hear more of her vaopcals and not so much of the band
