It was a great mixture of classical music with modern sense of humor. The fireworks were a great culmination! Unforgettable performance!
Fantastic performance by the LA Philharmonic and the USC Marching Band. All 4 peices were very well done, culimating with the 1812 Overture. The fireworks were amazing, I'd watch this performance again!
The true star of this concert was Bramwell Tovey, the wonderful conductor. His hilarious introductions to each piece had the audience in stitches while informing us of the storylines. The cello soloist was also a big star of the evening and was magical. I now plan to make this event an annual one for our family.
MY ENTIRE FAMILY HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL. ONE OF THE BEST VALUES ON OUR RECENT VACATION TO CALIFORNIA! OUR GRAND KIDS LOVED IT.
Great show. Fireworks were great. Too late for kids though, next time will leave them with sitter.
A really unforgettable evening with the witty and funny conductor's commentaries between the items, the orchestra playing its heart out, the solo cellist playing with aplomb. Pity that we had to wait forever for the shuttle bus to pick us up but it was interesting observing the goings on after midnight in Hollywood.
We loved this concert... and the finale was great!!!!
It was a very good experience, although some more fireworks would be better
The Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks was truly spectacular! The Tchaikovsky pieces that were chosen were enjoyable. Bramwell Tovey's (the conductor) commentary on the pieces was humorous, yet informative. The fireworks were dramatic. All in all a great evening!
Tchaikovsky. I love his music. And 1812 with fireworks. wonderful x 100 times!!!
It was a great event. I have attended this event many times in that last 20 years and this one was among the best. The thing tbat made it so great was the conductor, Bramwell Tovey's warmth and humor as he introduced each piece, going over the story and explaining the themes. I had taken my two grand daughters, one teen and one in he early twenties and a friend of theirs. They were a lot more attentive and interested in the m usic after listening to Mr. Tovey's introductions than in previoius years. The fireworks were truly spectacular as usual.
Great orchestra, great conductor, great music. That says it all.
This was an awesome show! The conductor was very enertaining and the selected music was perfect! A great night out!
The conductor has such a great sense of humor and provides audience backgroud of each program.
The LA Phil was spectacular- the conductor was hilarious and did an amazing job with the orchestra. We will be going again for sure! The addition of the USC Trojan Marching band with the orchestra & fireworks topped off a perfect night.
Doesn't get much better than this! Tovey engages the audience with his wit and humor always making for an unforgettable event! It truly was a spectacular evening! Music, USC Band, Tovey, and fireworks were all amazing!
We literally sat in the last possible row, in the very center, and it was excellent! The music was wonderful, and the fireworks were awesome! Also, the USC Trojans looked so impressive with their shining instruments and clean uniforms. Definitely an amazing show, I am going to recommend it to everybody!
It was fab as usual- my 5th year. Best program ever.
I was skeptical of an outdoor classical concert, especially one mingled with food and wine, because people can be inconsiderate with noise and talking. But to my surprised, most people conducted themselves well and the evening was enjoyable. I gave it a 4 star instead of 5 because there were some technical issues with the speaker acoustics. The sound engineering wasn't as well as it should be for Hollywood Bowl. But regardless, the fireworks were impressive and overall it was an enjoyable evening. Highly recommend taking the bus or shuttle. It was front drop-off and buses had priority of getting out of the lots at the end. I can only imagine how long people were stuck in the parking lots with their cars... after all, 18,000 people is a lot of people!
