    No organization

by ScVal on 9/4/19The Black Academy of Arts & Letters Complex - Dallas

Loved the venue itself but bands were scheduled 39 minutes apart. No way for a band to tear down equipment and next band set up in 30 minutes. Then they continued to play loud music and promo on the screen even while band trying to do sound check . Impossible. Hiroshima was almost 2 hours late cause of the terrible scheduling. Won't go back till that's fixed

    A Day of Great Music

by J.B. on 9/4/19The Black Academy of Arts & Letters Complex - Dallas

This is the 3rd year that I have attended the Riverfront Jazz Festival. I am never disappointed. I have enjoyed headliners like Jeff Lorber and the Rippingtons and have become fans of musicians I am unfamiliar with like Rahsaan Patterson and the Nasty Brass Band. Thank you, Curtis King, for bringing this wonderful event to Dallas!

Music was Awesome but time waiting not good

by Loved It on 9/3/19The Black Academy of Arts & Letters Complex - Dallas

The musician line up was Great but the time waiting was really bad in between sets and nothing was on time that should be improved greatly next year. I also wanted to point out the wait time at the food truck that had the catfish dinner it was ridiculous but the food was good. Please work to have it be more timely next year.

    Horrible schedule

by t. on 9/3/19The Black Academy of Arts & Letters Complex - Dallas

This event would have been perfect giving the selection of performers. However, because almost every performance was two hours behind, I wasn’t able to enjoy the full show. I got frustrated and left and was told when leaving that the night before was even worst. Shout to Avery Sunshine, she was the only one that started and finished on time and gave a great show!!

    Riverfront Jazz Festival 2

by Loginmat on 9/19/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

I've attended the Festival both years and will continue to attend when you have an opportunity to see the Rippingtons, Alex and Lela all under the same roof. The Convention center was a nice improvement as well. I've already received next year's flyer and plan to make it three in a row.

    The festival was just ok

by Butterflymeaway1 on 9/5/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

The acts on Sunday were good however i did not like the venue. It should have been an outdoor event. The security at the convention center are lazy. Overall, it was ok but i wont be attending next year.

    TBAAL Does It Again!

by marfal on 9/5/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

Lalah Hathaway, The Rippingtons, and Tito Puente, Jr. were great, as well as many of the other artists. One suggestion: integrate the Latin acts more fully into the lineup. Also, the sound checks need to be faster and more efficient (Artists and audience shouldn't be distracted by glitches; we pay to hear every note played or sung.) Still, this is a GREAT value for the money and an EXCELLENT addition to the Dallas arts scene -- one that fills a real void in the city. Can't wait to go again next year!!!!!

    Too few people, great event

by Veritas6 on 9/5/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

Great event with both well known artists and up-and-coming young stars. Very enjoyable. Wish there were more people since there was definitely room for larger audiences. Hopefully next year.

    Sir Charles was the Best

by WillCC on 9/4/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

Outstanding event, not to crowded, drinks were good, food was moderately priced inside and I liked all the food trucks outside. It was very convenient to enter and exit with the stamp on our hand. I will recommend my friends to go next year. I do recommend getting the three day pass to see all the concerts.

I should of paid for the whole weekend. Loved every show. Just wish there were not so many VIP seats. (Only the first two rows out of maybe 25 had people sitting in them. Great talent, great setup, loved it. Will be returning next year the whole weekend next time.

    Riverfront Jazz & Blues

by BubRich on 9/4/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

Curtis outdid himself- though I love outdoor atmosphere- the music, the sound, the musicians were fantastic. The venue and food trucks provided a convenient and comfortable area to take a break between acts. Worth doing again next year.

Chilled at the 2018 Jazz Festival

by TrueGemini1 on 9/4/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

This was my first time attending the Jazz Festival. I enjoyed Mikki Howard, she did her thang. Kim Waters was very intense on the horn and I was blown away by the performance of Hiroshima. Amazing is all I can say! The vibe was great and I was so relaxed. The crowd was friendly and people were just chillin outside enjoyed the food and conversation. It was so refreshing to see that this day in time. Definitely a grown folks event. I would have like to see more vendors inside but I'm sure at the event grows so will the vendors. I wish I could have attended all 3 days but they will see me next year!

    Riverfront Jazz Fest

by DTEMP on 9/4/18Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena - Dallas

The Riverfront Jazz Festival was awesome. After it was over I started calling family and friends in town and out of town telling them to start getting ready to come next year. I also sent them some samples of what I had the opportunity to experience. It was my first time but definitely will not be my last. Great shows all around and the young 9 year old I think her name is Syke is going to do great things.
