Needed to have the roof open. 50/80 rule was not followed. Not sure why. Temperature outside was 60 degrees. Favored Texas a&m. I was with my handicapped buddy. Parking and elevators were perfect. Excellent sandwiches. This venue is superior to Tampa bay stadium and to the cotton bowl in dallas, site of previous 2 bowl games for Northwestern

These were on the 50 yard line in the club section. These seats and location were awesome.

Enjoyed the game and the access in and out was great at Reliant. We really enjoyed the club seating and the variety of food and drinks. Really courteous personnel and knowledgeable about the venue. Good view, and the sound system was good without being too loud.

great venue - but very poor sound coordination

by Anonymous on 1/3/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

The Stadium was wonderful, clean, comfortable - the staff friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that the piped in music was piped in - WAY TOO MUCH! There were 2 college bands there - but the bowl committee seemed to drop the ball regarding coordinating their playing. The NW band seemed to always be playing - even when the Aggie Band was playing - the NW band had microphones, that did seem to be turned off when it was the Aggie Band's turn to play. My family all had various levels of headaches upon leaving the game due to the loud sound - it is one thing to have a loud crowd or loud band music - it is another altogether to have the cacaphony of sound. The bowl should be worked more like a college game, where there is a script and specific times for the different bands to play.

    Game was great, but....

by Anonymous on 1/3/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

It really would have been much better if the announcer was a little more animated and if the booth would NOT have played the canned music doing timeouts, between plays, etc. and let the college bands do their part to play the music for their team and crowd. That is part of why they are there, give them a break.

    Good venue

by AGguy on 1/3/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

Good venue to watch a game. However, they made us leave immeadiately after the game instead of post game tailgating. Sat high but the view was good. Definitely use the escalators if you go.

    Nice Venue

It was a good time. Nice venue. Nothing over the top. I thought the post game awards were rushed. Liked the music during time outs.

    Aggies

    by AggieFan00 on 1/2/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

The game was great. The aggies finally won a bowl game. I was upset with reliant stadium. It didnt feel like a real game since they didnt have the team names in the endzone. I know the Texans played the next day but something could have been done. I am also upset with the music they played. An aggie game is a different experience when you can listen to the aggie band. Northwestern would have been able to experience the true aggie spirit. The aggie band always plays the war hymn after the third quarter but reliant stadium was playing music. The band played anyway but you couldnt hear it. We sang as loud as possible to drown out the music. This isnt an nfl game. Its a college game for a reason. The 12th man wasnt present because of these reasons.

    Good game, reasonable venue

    by addie552 on 1/2/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

Parking, although somewhat overpriced, was efficient with plenty of staff to guide. The stadium had quick security and ticketing-checking and we no problems getting to our seats. The seats had a good view of the field and jumbotron. Food and drink were heavily overpriced, so we skipped them and went to a steakhouse afterwards. The matchup between NU and TAMU turned out to be a good one, coming down to a field goal with less than two minutes left to really seal it. The excitement was a lot better than anticipated for a low-ranked bowl game The biggest disappointment was audio. Both NU and TAMU brought bands, but the stadium decided to play music over top of them between snaps and between quarters. Inexplicable. Everyone preferred the bands to the generic hip-hop being pumped out the speakers. There were over 20 000 empty seats... so you don't need to worry about buying tickets early for this bowl. Wait to see if you favorite team is playing!

    Big 12 Win was Great!

    by NavasotaHal01 on 1/2/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

This bowl game was nicely executed and easy to attend. My comments for improvement would be directed to those who work with the audio and video for the venue. With a college football game there is not a need to have music playing over the loudspeakers during the game- both college bands made an attempt to play and were often overshadowed by pre-recorded selections from a booth more in tune with a professional game compared to the environment of a college football game. Cut out the Ozzy and the other typical venue music and let us hear a real college game!

Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas

    by stdtrm29 on 1/2/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

My friends and I really enjoyed the game on New Years eve. Next year Meineke Car care bowl will need to invite SEC vs Big 12 teams. This could lead to a possible TAMU vs Texas game and help restore the rivalary in our great state. The Meineke Bowl could make big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

PA Music too loud and not necessary!

    by ljs8887 on 1/2/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

The overall presentation of the game was very entertaining. It was good seeing the Texas football legends recognized prior to the game. My complaint is that this is a college bowl game with 2 universities with very good bands. For some reason, during every time out and break on the field, extremely loud music was played over the PA to fill the air space. Both bands played during the time, but they were almost inaudible. Save AC/DC for the Texans games on Sunday to fill the void. I prefer the Fighting Texas Aggie Band at a college game.

Sound system drowned out school bands

by sbkirby on 1/2/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

If this were a Professional football game, I could understand the playing of LOUD MUSIC over the public address (PA) system during a lull in play. However, both schools had their own bands present, and the PA would constantly drown the bands out. This was very irritating. Texas A&M's Fighting Texas Aggie Band plays the schools fight song between each quarter, however, this was impossible because of the LOUD PA blaring music. Be more considerate of each schools bands next time.

    Music

    by AJS09 on 1/2/12Reliant Stadium - Houston

Overall the bowl was awesome, but whoever operates the music should be fired. During tw game the music was too loud and often outplayed both of the teams bands. Sometimes when the bands were playing it seemed like the music was turned up louder. The music is fine for a Texans game but please let the bands provide the music for college games held in reliant in te future
