Get A Book
by Aerosmith Fan on 5/14/19Pop Vegas at the Linq Promenade - Las VegasI wanted to love this and support it. I did one of those things; I supported it. This is more of an introduction to the world of tattoos for the layman. This is not for someone in the industry or lifestyle. It was a valiant effort, but flow was not exactly there. This could have been way more inclusive and cool with some more thought. Maybe highlights of domestic/int’l conventions/invitationals, or the relationship between tattooing and piercing/scarification. There was a Sailor Jerry exhibit and rum bar, but how about Lyle Tuttle history and info on the tattoo methods? Maybe different machines. Or go gangster and even show how tattoos hit all walks of life—prison, celebrities, etc. Go into proper sanitation practices and how they’ve evolved over the past two decades, from autoclave to single use needles. Or how tattoo artists become tattoo artists! The traditions! This could have been a way better exhibit. Honestly I think it was just a ploy to get people in for fake tattoos or maybe a real one. Talk to Aaron Bell from Slave to the Needle about his 20th Anniversary Party and how he organized/presented it. He had that on lock.
