About

Tape B is the stage name of Kemal Alkanat, an electronic music producer and DJ from Boca Raton, Florida who specializes in bass music. Melding old-school dubstep with forward-thinking, experimental beats, Tape B began releasing original music in 2020, including collaborations with Mon Diesel (“End of the World”), DropTalk (“On the Block”) and Just John (“Tale From the Backwoods”). By 2021, the producer had dropped his debut EP Hallow Tapes and quickly followed that with two more EPs: 2022’s Equinox and A Dose of Nostalgia. Tape B recently unveiled “Neon Shades,” his 2023 single with Conrank, and projects like the four-track Over Saturated and DRIPTAPES: VOL. 4.

  • We’ve Lost Dancing

by ChicagoPLUR69 on 11/24/25The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

Facing the sad reality that people will come to shows like this in 2025 and literally just stand there and record on their phones instead of dance and have fun. Also, the Salt Shed needs to prioritize giving people space to dance at these shows instead of overselling it.

  • Great show to dance too.

by BrettKing on 11/10/25The Ritz - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Great show to dance too. Excellent openers. Hydrate good before you go to the Ritz. Water is at a minumum. No bottled water, take a collapsible plastic bottle you can fill there.

  • Best Birthday Weekend

by em on 10/20/25Bayou Music Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

My girlfriend brought me to Houston for my birthday weekend and we started the weekend off with Tape B. The venue was great, staff was great and the sound engineering for Tape B’s set was fire!

  • Good venue and great set!

    by EmB13 on 12/23/24Uptown Theater Minneapolis - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show! If you didn’t want to be in the crowd you could stand up by the rails or walkway which was nice for better viewing if you don’t want to spend the money for upper level seating. The bar wasn’t super packed when I went up a couple times either for being a sold out show. The sound quality was good. Not too loud. Didn’t have to use ear plugs like at some shows at the armory.

  • Horrible

by Tuck on 12/10/24Big Night Live - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

  • Oversold

by Truocnateb on 12/9/24Big Night Live - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Very good show but it was completely oversold and barely any room to move anywhere. Was told people were being turned away at the door too.

  • Artist was 5 star venue not so much

by Throwing hammers on 11/5/24Mercury Ballroom - LouisvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Venue was over sold, audio quality was poor. Canned water is never a good idea in a packed crowd.

  • Rod

by Starkey on 11/4/24Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

10/10. Rod is the best bartender I’ve ever had! Give that man a raise or something! Haha. Show was awesome, security was smooth. All in all, great show! We’ll be back in 2 weeks

  • Tape b senate

by Mike the wook on 9/8/24The Senate - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

Show was amazing, venue needs improvement. If the floor was pitched slightly so you could see from further back it would be amazing. Instead it’s like a warehouse show with a semi decent bar.

  • Fantastic

    by Zephyr on 4/9/24Elevation 27 - Virginia BeachRating: 5 out of 5

The security, staff and performers were all amazing. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Super friendly. Staff made sure to check on my friend when she blacked out. Show was amazing, of course. Big thanks to the venue and staff who made this happen.
