Tanya Tucker on Tour
From the beginning of her career, when she was a teenager who sounded like someone way beyond her years, Tanya Tucker has been blessed with an uncommonly expressive voice. Throughout her artistic evolution over the decades, that's never changed. To this day, when you catch the country legend in concert, you're listening to a singer who can tell a story in song like nobody else. And what's country music about, if not telling stories? Whether she's delivering some of her earliest hits, like "Delta Dawn" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)," digging into later material, or changing things up completely with covers of tunes by the likes of the Eagles or Bruce Springsteen, Tucker approaches each performance of every song like it's the most important one of her life — because in that moment, it is.
Tanya Tucker in Concert
Tanya Tucker has blazed a long and singular path in country music, starting in 1972 when the shockingly precocious singer, only 13 years old at the time, debuted with her hit "Delta Dawn" (before Helen Reddy ever recorded it). With a musical maturity that made her sound unquestionably adult, she churned out a string of No. 1 country hits while she was still in her teens, songs like "What's Your Mama's Name" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)." And of course the hits kept coming after she moved on to actual adulthood, with Tucker maintaining a presence in the Country Top 10 all the way into the late '90s. She's always had an outlaw attitude that set her apart from the pack — for instance, she released a rock 'n' roll album in 1979, when such things were unheard of for mainstream country stars. So her appeal has lasted, existing outside the constantly changing trends of country. For instance, when she released 2019's While I'm Livin', her first album in a decade, enough people were paying attention to ensure that the record made it into the Top 10 on the Country Album charts.
my parents took me to the concert for my birthday. it was a great birthday present tanya sang all my favorites GREAT time love you tanya
Tanya was awesome as always and seeing her daughter was great, what a voice. She needs to sing a couple more songs and maybe a duet with her Mom. The only down side was the show was a bit short. Maybe because her dental work was bothering her, I dont know but it needs to be longer. Cant wait till you come back, I'll be there up front as usual.
Tanya was great and put on a great show....and did a lot of classic Tanya, but would have liked to hear a couple more recent ones like, "Memory like I'm gonna be". Little disappointed on no oncor, but this was only my second time at Billy Bob's and might be the way it is always done there. I purchased a "Live at Billy Bob's" CD of Tanya Tucker for 20 bucks and it is a bad cd....I have tried it in 3 different players and all say bad cd. Rather disappointing especially since we were all geared up to listen to Tanya on our 2 hour drive back home. Still a good time was had by all and still as much of a Tanya fan as I was at 14 years old.
Tanya Tucker hit the stage and never stopped, she was dancing, interacting with the crowd you could see it all over her that she still loves what she does. Her daughter Presley and son Grayson both sang as did her niece, LaCosta did a surprise appearance to the delight of the entire crowd. It was a mini family reunion and was very intimate, yet the whole crowd was involved. She sang "Lizzie and the Rainman" and being the first time I have ever heard her sing that live she did an amazing job. I would see her show everyday if I could.
Tanya put in a great show! Her family was also included and terrific.
The concert was unbelievable!! Seats sucked! But other than that was awesome! Was wanting to here two sparrows in a hurricane, it was our wedding song, but She didnt sing that song:( Overall would still definately do it again! Pic attached to what we saw for the concert.
Tanya Tucker has been singing since she was a child, yet years into a adulthood her voice is still as strong as it ever was! She is full energy and humor! A fantastic show!
Overall the concert was good, but the seating is so tight that if you move on your chair the person next to you assumes your space. The warm up song was a little too rock/too loud for this crowd. Good selection of songs, good interaction with the audience. Her family was good and added to the show, but not sure they will ever make big solo. Presley and Grayson each did a song they wrote. Cali did a good job her song. As a performer Presley could 'outstage' her mother, she's (still young and) seemed to be having the time of her life. Cali was good, but more song than performance. Grayson did not seem to be comfortable on stage and was only onstage during his songs and didn't make it back onstage for the 'Thank You,' even though he was standing on the steps to the stage ?? Show ended abruptly after an hour and a half without introducing the band and someone taking the mic from Tanya and staring sternly at her as she quickly exited, touched hands with only the exit side of the stage.
Tanya was just as great as I had imagined her to be. She has the most awesome capability of making you feel at ease both with her music, style and her warm smile. This was my first time to see her perform and it was no less than what I expected. I wished she would have sang a few more songs, the time was short. Overall, a great concert, a great entertainer and a wonderful crowd!
WOW!!! IT WAS LIKE LISTENING TO YOUR OLD CASSETTES!!! SHE SOUNDED AMAZING! I THINK THE SOUND CONTROLL GROUP GOT THINGS A BIT MESSED UP WITH THE MICROPHONES AT CERTAIN POINTS, BUT SHE SOUNDED GREAT. SHE LOOKED GREAT AND WE SOOOO ENJOYED OURSELVES!! THANK YOU TO THE STAFF AS WELL. :o)
I grew up on Tanya's music because my Mom listened to her a lot. I thought it would be awesome to see her and man, was I right! Great show! She still sounds incredible!
Enjoyed hearing Tanya do the old songs I grew up with. However, she could have not spotlighted the kids and their songs we didn't feel they were very good. The 3 police standing behind our seats talked during the entire concert and it was very distracting.
I gave the tickets to my parents for their 55th wedding anniversary. My mom called me after the concert to thank us and let us know they had a wonderful time. They said Tanya put on a fantastic show and was very entertaining. They also enjoyed how she had her children there performing.
Tanya is such a great show-woman. Her band was top notch and the way she can work a audience was fantastic.
Tanya had a great show. She got her kids involved, which was a good touch. Tanya seemed to be having fun, so it was fun for the crowd.
Tanya Tucker is as good now as she was in the 70's. She may even be better. She acts her age and doesn't try to be in her twenties on stage. She covered all her great songs from the past with great skill. This concert was on the list as number one.
We enjoyed everything about the show. Tanya sounds as good as ever and she sang everyone of my favorite songs. She interacts very well with the audience and tells interesting stories in between the songs. If she comes back to the area I'll definitely go see her again.
Tanya looked great, she sounded awesome!! The only problem was we drove an hour and a half to see her and she only played for 1 1/2 hours. She did not do an encore. This is the first concert i have ever been to with no encore and went less than 2 hours!! We will not go back to Hinkley for another concert.
Tanya put on an awesome show. Not only did she sing, but her daughter Prestley, her niece Cali and her son Grayson also sang solos. Then the 4 of them sang a song together. She has a very talented family.
Ms Tucker was excellent as was her band and family. Grand Casino could have better seating for viewing the stage.
