Tanya Tucker on Tour

From the beginning of her career, when she was a teenager who sounded like someone way beyond her years, Tanya Tucker has been blessed with an uncommonly expressive voice. Throughout her artistic evolution over the decades, that's never changed. To this day, when you catch the country legend in concert, you're listening to a singer who can tell a story in song like nobody else. And what's country music about, if not telling stories? Whether she's delivering some of her earliest hits, like "Delta Dawn" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)," digging into later material, or changing things up completely with covers of tunes by the likes of the Eagles or Bruce Springsteen, Tucker approaches each performance of every song like it's the most important one of her life — because in that moment, it is.

Tanya Tucker in Concert

Tanya Tucker has blazed a long and singular path in country music, starting in 1972 when the shockingly precocious singer, only 13 years old at the time, debuted with her hit "Delta Dawn" (before Helen Reddy ever recorded it). With a musical maturity that made her sound unquestionably adult, she churned out a string of No. 1 country hits while she was still in her teens, songs like "What's Your Mama's Name" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)." And of course the hits kept coming after she moved on to actual adulthood, with Tucker maintaining a presence in the Country Top 10 all the way into the late '90s. She's always had an outlaw attitude that set her apart from the pack — for instance, she released a rock 'n' roll album in 1979, when such things were unheard of for mainstream country stars. So her appeal has lasted, existing outside the constantly changing trends of country. For instance, when she released 2019's While I'm Livin', her first album in a decade, enough people were paying attention to ensure that the record made it into the Top 10 on the Country Album charts.

The absolute best concert ever! Tanya is the consummate singer and performer. Wish it could have lasted longer! I didn't want it to end! She was so "real"and there for her audience.

    Tanya Tucker Concert

by Lorie on 1/29/24Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort Worth

Tanya was excellent! She has a great voice, told some great stories and really related to the audience. She is gracious, kind and expressed her gratitude to her fans on multiple occasions. (other artists could learn from her) The Will Roger’s Auditorium was quaint. Sound was good but the seats need to be updated with easy to read letters and numbers. Lines were long but service was fast and moved quick. I had a great experience! Bucket list item now checked off!

We had the best time ever! Tanya was so good and the show amazing. She sang all her classic hits as well as new material. All great!! The crowd was fun too. I had seen her the first time in ‘72 at the Rodeo when I was 13 and so glad to see her again. She has such spirit and talent!

    A star ⭐️

by Embee on 1/29/24Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort Worth

I flew in from MA to see the legend, Tanya Tucker. Did not disappoint. She still has illustrious star quality and her voice has more depth and conveys even more emotion. She is at her zenith. Most interestingly she is a phenomenal storyteller. The singing was fabulous but when you add her stories and humble self facing storytelling personality the night is so worth the wait and effort! Not to be missed!

    Not enough singing

by Terri Lynn on 1/29/24Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort Worth

I love Tanya Tucker, I think she's awesome. She has over 30 top 10 hits and at this concert I was hoping to hear at least 20 of them. I believe she sang 6. She did so much talking and storytelling that I could tell the crowd was getting uneasy because we paid money to hear her sing. She sang some new songs and I liked them but I wanted to hear her old music. At one point she sang the song ,"When I die, I may not go to heaven"and the entire crowd got on their feet and everybody was singing and clapping to the music and then as soon as she was done with that song I believe she started in with another story and the crowd sat down and once again we had to listen to her talk. I think she should have taken the crowds enthusiasm as a cue to then start singing 8-10 of the hits we love. The the room would have been thrilled. Twice I heard someone yellow "SING"because although storytelling is nice, we really only want to hear a 60 second story and then back into your music. Also, the ticket said the event would start at 7:30 and it started at 8:30. I know some people had to walk out after an hour to catch the the train so they missed an hour of her show.

    Amazing Artist and fabulous venue

by KD on 1/29/24Will Rogers Auditorium - Fort Worth

Concerts are meant to be interactive. The artist with the audience and the audience with the artist. Tanya does that so flawlessly. The venue was also perfect for it. She sounded amazing and her personal touches reminded me of why I fell in love with her music so many years ago.

I'll admit, I didn't have high expectations going in, but came out super impressed and so glad I was there for it! What a legend! My whole group has been singing Delta Dawn ever since Friday night.

    Worth the trip

by Tanya fans from AL on 12/19/23Brown County Music Center - Nashville

Great show! Great venue! We drove up from Birmingham, AL to catch Tanya and are SO happy we did. The venue & staff was very organized and easily accessible for everyone. This was one of the best, ADA accommodating experiences. From parking, entering the venue, even attendants in the restrooms - everyone was helpful and kept the crowds moving. Tanya was great of course - on time and rocked it! We would definitely make the drive again for a show at Brown Music Center!

I love seeing Tanya Tucker! She is definitely older but her music is still amazing. I’ve seen her twice now here! The only thing I would have changed was I would have had both bars open, not just one

See Tanya Tucker if you can!

by Hoosier Concert Goer on 12/11/23

Although quite late to the stage, Tanya put on a fantastic show. Her voice remains perfect, and she is a great entertainer. She told many interesting and funny stories. Her daughter Presley is her back-up singer, and she was so much fun to watch! She harmonizes perfectly with Tanya as their voices are quite similar. I'm someone who doesn't want to hear new music at a concert--I really only want to hear the hits. Tanya played several songs I've never heard before, and I went home and added them all to my playlist. An absolute first for me! Someone at the same show we went to complained that the warm-up act played more songs that she did. I can only assume they have no concept of time as that could not be further than the truth. The warm-up act was fantastic by the way. I'm thrilled I got to see her in concert, and I would highly recommend other fans see her if the opportunity arises! Five stars!

    Front of stage

by Vivi on 12/9/23Brown County Music Center - Nashville

I don’t think they should allow people to stand up close to stage. Front row seats are the blocked by people with seats farther away standing next to stage. If you want to be that close by a ticket up next to stage.
