The blond lady with the short haircut, under no circumstances should she be on the stage, her skills were many levels below the other primary dancers. The primary dancers did a very nice job, strong dynamic movements, high level difficulty, great speed, easily to see ballroom and ballet foundations. The section of the show with the bolas was the best I have ever witnessed. I have seen several previously. Only negative comment it was a little too long. The solo male dancer who was making an attempt at Flamenco, "nix" that section of the show, it was the weakest part, for those of us who are familiar with Flamenco it was hard to watch, looked amateurish Overall the show was at least 4 stars.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Tango Buenos Aires left me with my jaw dropped!
by HG1113 on 3/27/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleTango was amazing! What I loved the best and most amazing to me was the fact that the story was told without words, only dancing and a quintet. The show was spectacular and you could feel the ups and downs and excitement!
Rating: 3 out of 5 Buenos Aires Tango; a mixed bag
by ToriLin on 3/27/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleThe first number (not a dance number) was a song sung by an older woman whose voice wasn't great and who missed many notes. This was made worse by an absolutely terrible microphone. It was also disconcerting that she sang in (very poorly enunciated) English, rather than in Spanish. The musical group sounded like they were all playing separately for the first few numbers - like they had never played together- especially the percussionist who seemed to be way off the beat. Luckily, the band came together during the night and actually wowed me. But there were sound issues throughout most of the evening. There was a "mature" woman who danced a few times (I think she may have been the singer). She did well for a woman her age but, honestly, it's not what I pay to see. There was a long and intense performance by one man which took the audience by storm - with the boleadoras. His performance was electric. At intermission I went to the sound board to speak with the sound guy about the issues. There were others behind me who had been waiting to speak with him and who joined in on my list of concerns. The sound guy was oblivious and aggressive. Both the lack of quality sound, as well as the sound man's attitude, seemed quite out of line with the prestige of the Broward Center. For the quality if the show I felt that I significantly overpaid at $75. So, all in all, it was a mixed bag but with some very worthwhile highlights.
Rating: 4 out of 5by Anonymous on 3/27/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale Show was great! It could be improved to hear a real Tango Solo, a real voice singing better than the lady; I couldn't understand her. The others were great dancers!
Rating: 4 out of 5 tango buenos aires
by jacqueb on 3/20/15Jo Long Theatre - San AntonioThe a/c was apparently off at the Carver auditorium for the first half of the show--very uncomfortable. The dancers and musicians were great--except for the blond vocalist. Her English was heavily accented and the audio was bad in the first half so she was difficult to understand.Would have preferred she sang in Spanish. Also, her dancing was not up to par with the others who were amazing.

by TexasHeart on 3/18/15Jo Long Theatre - San AntonioThe men's act with the spinning ropes too long of an act for me. I came to see TANGO. I walked out after about five numbers of this rope spinning. I paid over $50 for this ticket and was most disappointed.

by RBSkinner on 3/18/15Jo Long Theatre - San AntonioHow I wish I could tango but the next best thing to do is watch excellent artists do it for you. Loved the program and enjoyed the Carver as the venue.

by CANTINPLO on 3/17/15Jo Long Theatre - San Antoniotango is a very pretty music and dancing is so elegant, very difficult but extraordinary. The women need to be so slim and dressing as in the 1920 fashion. These dancers were great,. I remember Paris in the 1920 with the style, charm and elegance. Congratulations we enjoyed every minute and keep in mind we travel from Austin Texas to San Antonio and we spent one day hotel. I wish they could come to Austin

Rating: 3 out of 5 TANGO BUENOS AIRES
by MBMac on 3/12/15Sottile Theatre - CharlestonI thought it was average. I saw the Tango performed in Buenos Aires and was so moved by the passion of the male and female dancers and the love story that they portrayed in their performance I thought for sure I would see that again. But this performance was a little too fast and almost campy. Most of the men were a little long in the tooth, so to say, and were dressed like the waiter I had at dinner an hour before the play. Long white jacket. Not very alluring. The women though were very good and beautifully dressed.
Rating: 1 out of 5 Boring and dull
by Jackal99 on 3/3/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - EnglewoodThe show was very poor. I actually fell a sleep twice which was hard to do since the theatre was like an ice box that night. I have been to 25 plus shows at the venue and this was the WORST! The dancing was bland and there were so many filler parts. The show could really have been 30 minutes that they fluffed up with the same dance routine to make it longer. The cast had ZERO chemistry.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 2/23/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood I so glad ,I very happy watch that show ! Want to come again.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Entertaining Evening
by Mobola59 on 2/23/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - EnglewoodLove tango, and in this event it was more than Tango. The evening started with the usual Tango couple dance, followed by theater tango and other stories. They also presented what I believe to be Gauchos doing acrobatic movements with 2 balls attached to 2 different strings and held with their hands. It was very impressive. Loved the show, music, music players. I thought that the stage could had use some back ground picture or decoration.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Jaw-dropping and mind-blowing
by DoctorDBS on 2/23/15Bergen Performing Arts Center - EnglewoodThe group tableaux were a bit draggy but the individual couples' dances were splendid and the gaucho bolero twirling was beyond belief.
