A Bit Disappointing
by JacquiG50 on 4/24/17USF Sun Dome - TampaThe first disappointment was members from key groups like Toni Tony Tone, Dru Hill and Guy being absent. I thought Sisqo of Dru Hill could've concentrated more on vocals and led more songs rather than do a dance routine with hired dancers. Also, Dru Hill didn't perform one of their major hits, In My Bed; I thought that was odd. Toni Tony Tone, which was really just Toni Tony (don't know where Tone was on Friday night) included the theme song to the Jeffersons, Moving On Up, in their opening. I didn't understand that at all however, it got better after that. They performed their hit songs and they sounded good, especially Anniversary. I really enjoyed that. Silk & 112 were ok. Doug E. Fresh, in my opinion, was the main attraction. He did great with his beat box vocal techniques, and connected well with the audience. He had us up out of our seats partying! As I said, Doug E. Fresh was the main attraction and should've closed the show because what happened next left me in awe. Guy was the group set to close the show. Well, after the DJ getting us all hyped up with this big introduction, showing their videos and getting us all excited to see the group.....out comes Teddy Riley and 2 unchoreographed dancers to the stage. No Aaron nor Damien Hall. And all during Teddy Riley's performance, he used a voice box machine, like the one Roger Troutman used, and did songs by other artists. My Perogative by Bobby Brown and other songs. I never heard a Guy song. I think he was doing something by Stevie Wonder, as I was walking out.
