About

Tamino on Tour

Belgian-Egyptian singer and musician Tamino has an incredible vocal range that has earned him comparisons to iconic singers such as the late Jeff Buckley, and fans such as bassist Colin Greenwood (formerly of Radiohead).  Fans who have the chance to watch Tamino live continuously comment on his unbelievable falsetto and stage presence. In the past, Tamino was featured as part of Live Nation's Ones to Watch series and was noted as having a falsetto that surpasses "face-melting" and can only be described as divine.

A Tamino concert is like no other. While some musicians create songs and music for people to enjoy, Tamino has consistently produced music that comes directly from his heart. As concertgoers can attest, each piece of his music does a fantastic job of combining his cultural roots with his own unique flair.

Even though Tamino embarked on his 2022 North American and European Tour to promote his 2022 sophomore album, Sahar, it wasn't the first time he has headlined a show. The classical musician headlined his first European tour in 2018 after releasing his first full-length album, Amir, in 2019. While the 2022 tour is much larger, Tamino has always been an incredible performer.

Tamino Live in Concert

The grandson of one of Egypto's most famous singers, Muharram Fouad, Tamino has amazed audiences since his debut at a Radio 1 session in 2016, where he had the opportunity to play with the Belgian band Het Zesde Metaal. Since then, the classic indie rock star has created a sound all his own by combining classical music with his Arabic heritage.

Having trained vocally at the Amsterdam Royal Conservatory at 17, Tamino has continued to improve his notifiable falsetto that has drawn compliments from around the world.

Early in his career, he spent most of his time playing throughout Europe, where he won a new musical talent competition at Studio Brussels in 2017. He also was one of the performers selected to play at the 2017 Flemish Music Industry Awards.

It wasn't until 2019 before Tamino made his way to North America, where he performed his first shows at South by Southwest.

Tamino's debut album, Amir, which perfectly fuses together European and Arabic folk traditions, was well-received by the industry and was named a Top 10 album by The Independent. Tamino also captured the Anchor Award at the 2018 Reeperbahn Festival in Germany.

  • Chicago Concert

He was one of the best concerts I've seen. Truly a beautiful voice and such an amazing energy to be involved in. He's not over the top with shouting and making loud noises to grab a crouds attention. With just a wave, he's immaculate and the stage presence is still there. He's an amazing singer and clearly puts in the work for what he's passionate about.

  • Genuinely amazing

    by s on 5/29/23Théâtre Corona - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best nights of my life. Tamino was incredible and the venue was clean and comfortable. I felt safe the whole time and couldn't have asked for a better time. Two things however, I wish that the opener, Sister Ray had been announced ahead of time and that we had known that the merch was cash only, as well as the prices for the merch. Thank you all for such a great night !!

  • Ethereal!

I would have given anything for another song, truly nothing compares to hearing Tamino’s voice in person. It’s like it goes from his heart straight to ours, in melodies that are so angelic I felt like I stood in front of an ancient king rumoured to be a god. Every single song blew me away, You Don’t Own Me and Habibi especially. The simplicity on having him alone on stage with his collection of guitars and those lights that compliment each mood lent themselves perfectly to the experience. Loved the oud! Thank you Tamino, I hope Montreal was a good end to your North American tour<3

Loved the venue, love Tamino, and I’m glad he’s doing US tours! He’s beautiful and has an amazing voice. It was just him and his guitar and it’s one of the best concerts I’ve been in; his voice is incredible

  • Literal Angel

    by J. L. on 5/2/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Saw Tamino with my sister and was not disappointed, it was amazing. He was giving a descended from the heavens to serenade mere mortals type of vocals. Absolutely legendary voice and skill. Was very relaxed and sweet with the crowd.

  • Literally felt like a religious experience

by Aria on 10/8/22The Regent Theater - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The show was truly incredible. Tamino has such a presence and such a powerful voice, I found myself in a trace, looking up at the stage. The entire crowd was dead silent, most people not even filming on their phones, just staring up in wonder. It was a reverent crowd. Being in the same room as him felt like nothing short of a religious experience. He somehow sounded even better than his records and put on a show that I will never stop reliving in my mind. Tamino is more than a performer, he is a legend.
