About

The youngest of five strong, soulful R&B singers marketed as The Braxtons throughout most of the ‘90s, Tamar Braxton has since moved on to focus on her solo music career, much like her older sister Toni. Her 2013 sophomore release entitled “Love and War” soared to No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and led to concerts across the U.S. Coming off the success of the tour, Tamar earned three trophies at the 2013 Soul Train Awards—Best Female R&B/Soul and Song of the Year for the title track, as well as The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award.

The soprano performer made her major label debut in 2000 with Dreamworks’ “Tamar,” which featured production by Jermaine Dupri and Missy Elliott, as well as songwriting by Grammy winner Mya. But after a move to Casablanca Records didn’t work out, the youngest Braxton shied away from the limelight, instead providing backup vocals to sister Toni’s albums.

In 2011, Tamar re-emerged on the WE tv reality show “Braxton Family Values” and began dabbling in music professionally once again, eventually signing with Epic Records. Now ticket sales are smoother for Tamar, who also dropped a sexy holiday effort, “Winter Loversland,” in time for the 2013 holiday season.

    I love Tamar but...

by Anonymous on 6/1/14Irving Plaza - New York

She talked way too much for this to have been a concert, mini concert , or showcase! Bottom line...too much talking and not enough singing. I personally do not know if I'll ever attend any more of her concerts. I'll stick to purchasing her albums and watching her reality shows. The venue wasn't the best either.

The show was great and she was hilarious just as she is on tv. The venue was waaaay too small and we waited in line for hours.

    Tamar brought it!

by JAZZYFLOWER on 5/30/14Tower Theatre - Upper Darby

Nice crowd and good seating... nice place to have had the show. For one cd (minus her christmas cd); it was a funfilled pack show. She did all the songs in a creative way!

Tamar was excellent. She slayed and was Beat. Her vocals are amazing and she wowed the crowd with her story telling. She gave face. I drove from Virginia Beach to see She, Me, Her. I also saw her at the DAR in DC. She was good there opening for John Legend but on her own Love and War Tour. She Won! I hope she comes to Virginia Beach.

Tamar put on a great show and I would pay to see her again. She was interactive with her audience and kept to the theme of her show. I love the way she portrayed her show as a story which made you understand her and her story.

Loved! Loved! Loved! Loved! Loved! Tamar

by ReeRee217 on 5/29/14Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

The show was great, the wait was very unorganized. The Tower staff was rather rude, and things were very chaotic. We were told to move 3 different times out of the line we were in to a worse spot in line. Then I paid for a fast pass upgrade to be told I didn't need it since I had TLA tickets. At the end of the long 4 hour wait in line, I really enjoyed seeing Mrs. Braxton - Hubert do the damn thing. She did make me mad when she only song a portion on "All the Way Home", I love the while cd, but that's my absolute favorite.

I would absolutely recommend that you go see Tamar. That girl can sing and put on a show. She did every single song from the cd and I enjoyed every moment of it. I didn't like the what happened with the venues. It was first at the TLA & because it sold out within hours they moved it to Tower Theatres. I just didn't understand how they thought this would be a smooth transition going from a general admission arena to a seated arena. Total mess! Once you were inside and the show started it was well worth it but outside the venue was a total wreck.

    SHE DID THAT

by Lyzia on 5/29/14Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

The show was over all amazing. TAMAR did her thing on stage. She is a great performer and she worked her butt off on that stage. I would definitely pay to see her again.

    Fun times with Tamar :-)

by JWeeze on 5/28/14The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Although I noticed she was singing to the track at times, the concert was really nice and she was a much better performer than I expected. It was also beautiful to hear her talk about her love for her husband in between songs.

    She Did That!

by highlyflavored on 5/28/14The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

I original only bought tickets to the Thursday, May 22nd show, the show was so great we decided to go again on Sunday, May 25th. Tamar did such a great job and I could tell she is just so humble and grateful for all her blessings, almost had the crowd in tears with her story. I would definitely see her again. And Vincent Thee Herbert was super cool, he walked around and greeted the crowd, unlike most celebrities who would barely give a simple wave, we had an amazing time. I would say this though, I am from the westcoast and rep Cali to the fullest, it would be nice if the DJ asked the crowd if there were any out of towners, or maybe mixed in one or two westcoast songs.

    Tamar

by Sunshineblueski on 5/28/14The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

The concert was long enough for an artist that has 1 album. She was very engaging as well as entertaining. The only thing wrong was the sound system, it could have been much better in order to hear her more clearly.

Tamar was great! I love small venues because the artists always seem to engage more with the audience.

The music drowned out her voice - although I think she was lip syncing. The advertisement said it was for all ages - it was not. Very racy performance. We left early.
