About

Taking Back Sunday is one of the most notable bands to emerge from emo’s third wave. The group, which formed in 1999 on Long Island, New York, has featured the lineup of vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, bassist Shaun Cooper and drummer Mark O'Connell for nearly two decades. TBS have released eight studio albums, including their 2002 platinum-certified debut Tell All Your Friends and four career Top 10 releases on the Billboard 200. After 2004’s “A Decade Under the Influence” became their first single to hit the Alternative Airplay chart, the quartet released their breakthrough 2006 effort Louder Now, led by the Hot 100-charting single “MakeDamnSure.” The band spent 2022 collaborating with the likes of Steve Aoki and The Maine before releasing their 2023 full-length, 152.

Taking Back Sunday amazing show...even on a Wed :)

    by emilyj224 on 7/13/09Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - Milwaukee

I have seen Taking Back Sunday a handful of times and have been to The Rave an even bigger handful of times. I love the venue and loved that it was in the smaller concert hall at the Rave, it always makes for a better show, closer to the stage and a smaller crowd, that's how punk/emo shows should be. TBS did a great performance, same as always, Adam is a great front man, always energentic, funny, keeps the audience watching his every move, he is amazing! They played a good variety of songs, some off their new albums but made sure to play all the classics as well, which is what I love, always a good set list. honestly my only complaint would be I wish they played longer but no matter what show I always wish they could play longer. I will always try and see TBS when they come around and I will always love going up to the Rave for shows so all in all it was a great show and a great night!!

    TAKING BACK SUNDAY- Amazing

    by TAH19 on 7/13/09Clutch Cargo's - Pontiac

Envy on the Coast opened, then Anberlin. Anberlin's set was short, but amazing nonetheless. After years of waiting to finally see my all time favorite band, they lived up to my expectations and more. They stayed on stage and played more than any other band I've gone to see, and I don't think they skipped a single song I was really hoping to hear. They're high energy, and they love their fans. Adam is ABSOLUTELY COMPLETELY INCREDIBLE on stage. Any TBS fans who have yet to see them live, you have to make it out to a show. You won't regret it.

Clutch Cargo's is such a great venue to see a band. I am so glad that TBS decided to play a show here. Our group was able to meet Adam and Fazzi so how could it get any better?????

    Great Band @ Great Venue

by coryv on 7/12/09First Avenue - Minneapolis

I've seen Taking Back Sunday three times previous to this concert. This was by far their best show yet. It helped that the venue at First Avenue was more intimate. The lead singer Adam literally lights up the stage with his presence. I have never seen anyone twirl a microphone like him! They played a few new songs, yet gave us the good old ones that caused us to fall in love with their sound in the first place. An all around great show!

Good show, Anberlin not so much.

    by Casper302 on 7/12/09Clutch Cargo's - Pontiac

Overall it was a good show, thanks to TBS and Envy of the coast. I love Anberlin but a poor performance and messing up godspeed just left a sour taste in my mouth. My first time seeing TBS and I was very impressed. 4 stars,

TBS at Clutch Cargos is a Perfect Match

    by Andre3000 on 7/12/09Clutch Cargo's - Pontiac

I always love going to Clutch Cargo's. They have the best atmosphere, and the perfect proportions to have a good environment. TBS of course did not disappoint in such a nice intimate setting. Clutch Cargo's is a really good spot to go in general, its just affordable and not hard to get to. As far as the show was concerned, I loved every performance. Anberlin was excellent and TBS lit the place up with a great mix of old and new. If I had one complaint it was that the show ended really early, like 10:30 PM. This seemed uncharacteristic of this type of show. With only 3 groups performing, they could have easily put more songs in. And considering Anberlin and TBS have combined about 7 CD's and some change to their names, a 2.5 hour show just doesnt feel right. But still absolutely awesome and I will remember it well.

    TBS killed it!!!!

by nlindahl on 7/12/09First Avenue - Minneapolis

Taking Back Sunday definitely didn't let the crowd down at First Avenue. They played all of their most famous songs, which kept all the fan screaming throughout the performance. Adam Lazzara (vocals) kept true to his crazy stage presence and the rest of the band kept the energy level up. All in all, I don't know if their performance could have gotten any better.

    Taking Back Sunday=Love

    by Audie on 7/12/09Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - Milwaukee

I saw Taking Back Sunday at the rave and the show was INCREDIBLE. Envy on the Coast did a great job opening up and Anberlin was phenomenal. When Taking Back Sunday came on, everyone was pumped and the show was just insane.

    Taking Back Sunday; great again

    by meganvirginia on 7/12/09Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - Milwaukee

A front row seat in front of hurling moshpits was all worth it after seeing this show. It was my first time seeing Taking Back Sunday and they were better than I ever imagined. The energy of the crowd was unforgetable along with new member Matt Fazzi. As if he were with the band for years, his presence on stage gave off an exhilarating vibe. The set list consisted of older songs along with a few off there new album "New Again". Even though front man Adam Lazzara sounded a little scratchy, the voices of the fans overtook it. I will never forget the amount of energy in that room that day, it was lifechanging.

    TBS - Mediocre at Best.

by SamuraiJack on 7/12/09First Avenue - Minneapolis

While this music isn't entirely my genre anymore, I still have a large amount of both TBS and Anberlin on my ipod. My only problem was that with such a large pool of amazing songs TBS has to offer, they played just about every song that is usually skipped on the cd/mp3 player. I was hoping that my GF and I would be able to sing along the whole show, which sadly wasn't the case. Maybe we're just not that hardcore into TBS? Anberlin played an amazing setlist, thoroughly enjoyed it. The opening band wasn't too bad despite the lead singers quirky mannerisms which almost made him appear to be a cocaine addict haha. That said, it was a mediocre show only because of setlist choice by TBS. Oh fyi...A DAY TO REMEMBER is touring, check them out!!!!!
